Report on the “AI for Everyone” Workshop and Seminar
As part of Afghanistan Open University’s ongoing commitment to expanding practical, skills-based, and in-person educational opportunities, the “AI for Everyone” Workshop and Seminar was organized in collaboration with the Afghanistan Open Learning Center and the Cultural Counsellor’s Office of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The program was designed to enhance participants’ understanding of Artificial Intelligence, introduce key concepts and practical applications, and promote awareness of emerging educational and professional opportunities in the field. The workshop was delivered in separate sessions for men and women, with approximately 205 participants, including students, faculty members, staff, professionals, and individuals interested in technology and Artificial Intelligence.
The academic sessions addressed the development and evolution of Artificial Intelligence, fundamental concepts and algorithms, its practical applications, and the importance of acquiring relevant skills in response to emerging technological developments. The program also provided an opportunity to introduce related educational initiatives and encourage continued engagement in specialized learning.
In addition to the academic component, the event contributed to strengthening dialogue and engagement in the areas of education, knowledge exchange, and academic and cultural cooperation between the participating institutions.
As the first in-person workshop of its kind organized by Afghanistan Open University in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the program represents an important step in the University’s efforts to broaden access to practical learning and strengthen skills-oriented education. It also established a foundation for the continuation of specialized workshops, joint educational initiatives, and future academic and institutional cooperation.
