The intention is to carry out common annual campaigns on MGD topics such as environment protection, HIV/Aids prevention, migration/racism or social integration. It will combine development education, school initiatives and partnerships and NGO activities with cultural presentations of youth groups from South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Ghana, Madagascar, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Bolivia, Pe
ru and Chile and peer learning methods. Municipalities in the partner countries will cooperate closely with local NGOs, coordinate the local activities and strengthen the cooperation with the other European partners. Creative cooperation of local actors aims to increase the European public’s critical understanding of causes and consequences of global poverty. The Office for international Affairs of the City of Cologne is the leading project coordinator. Partners in Germany are Institut equalita in Cologne and Büro für Kultur- und Medienprojekte in Hamburg, both with long time experiences in cultural approaches.
