Vom 24. bis 26. April dieses Jahres fand in Nürnberg an der Berufsfachschule für Music "MUSICATION" die zweite Arbeitsphase des Young Artists Program statt, veranstaltet von der Marimba Festiva Association e.V.
Elf Jugendliche nahmen teil und beschäftigten sich drei Tage lang intensiv mit einem fortgeschrittenen Kammermusikrepertoire. Die Arbeitsphase endete mit einem Abschlusskonzert, das sehr erfolgreich und mit viel Freude durchgeführt wurde.
Wir freuen uns, dass das Young Artists Program erfolgreich verläuft, und blicken mit Vorfreude auf die dritte Arbeitsphase im Juni 2026 in Münnerstadt.
Als Dozenten war das Duo Pulsar eingeladen, bestehend aus Luis Robles und Manuel Monterrubio Martin.
Zum Organisationsteam des Projekts gehören Hans-Peter Krause, Stefanie Lemmerich-Carr und Slawomir Mscisz.
Wir danken der Berufsfachschule für Musik Musication, dem Musikhaus Thomann, dem Tonkünstlerverband Mittelfranken sowie der Raiffeisenbank Burgthann für ihre Unterstützung.

From April 24 to 26 of this year, the second working phase of the Young Artists Program took place in Nuremberg at the Berufsfachschule für Music "MUSICATION", organized by the Marimba Festiva Association.
Eleven young participants took part and worked intensively on an advanced chamber music repertoire over the course of three days. The working phase concluded with a final concert, which was carried out very successfully and with great joy.
We are pleased that the Young Artists Program is developing successfully and are already looking forward to the third working phase in Münnerstadt in June 2026.
The Duo Pulsar was invited as teachers, consisting of Luis Robles and Manuel Monterrubio Martin.
The project’s organizing team includes Hans-Peter Krause, Stefanie Lemmerich-Carr, and Slawomir Mscisz.

I am pleased to announce that the final prizes of the International Marimba Festival Competition in Bamberg 2025 have been awarded. Two recording sessions were held in the professional studio of Bayerischer Rundfunk Studio Franken in Nuremberg, and the the recordings by the two young artists: Samuel Gogniat and Jingxue Ren will soon be broadcast on the BR Klassik radio. We congratulate all participants of the competition as well as the two winners of the special prizes.

Vom 24. bis 26. April findet an der Berufsfachschule für Musik MUSICATION in Nürnberg die zweite Phase des Young Artist Programs statt.
Elf talentierte Jugendliche arbeiten in dieser Zeit intensiv an Kammermusikprojekten und nehmen an verschiedenen Workshops teil. Zu den Hauptdozenten zählen das Duo Púlsar - Luis Robles und Manuel Monterrubio Martin sowie Stefanie Carr-Lemmerich, Hans-Peter Krause und Slawomir Mscisz, der zugleich Leiter des Gesamtprojekts Marimba Festiva ist.
Auf dem Programm stehen kammermusikalische Werke u.a. von Camille Saint-Saëns, Eckhard Kopetzki und Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska. Darüber hinaus werden Stücke aus der mexikanischen Volksmusik präsentiert – gespielt auf einer original mexikanischen Marimba.
Das Abschlusskonzert findet am Sonntag, den 26. April, 16 Uhr statt.

From April 24 to 26, the second phase of the Young Artist Program will take place at the Musik College MUSICATION in Nürnberg.
During these days, eleven talented young musicians will work intensively on chamber music projects and participate in a variety of workshops. The main instructors include the Duo Pulsar- Luis Robles and Manuel Monterrubio Martin, as well as Stefanie Carr-Lemmerich, Hans-Peter Krause, and Slawomir Mscisz, who is also the director of the overall project Marimba Festiva.
The program features chamber music works a.o.t by Camille Saint-Saëns, Eckhard Kopetzki, and Anna Ignatowicz-Glińska. In addition, pieces from Mexican folk music will be performed on an original Mexican marimba.
The final concert will take place on Sunday, April 26, 4 pm and everyone is warmly invited to attend.

From November 14th to 15th this year, the International Marimba Festiva Meeting took place in Krakow, Poland, under the artistic direction of Marianna Bednarska. The program included two concerts, seminars, and workshops with young students from Krakow, as well as an exchange between Polish and German prize winners of various competitions. The soloists included Charlotte Kawohl, Gabor Mscisz, Ignacy Hubert, Aaron Döling, Szymon Chlad, Szymon Jaskolski, and Wojciech Klag. The newly founded Mallet Ensemble 25.25 from Germany also performed. In addition to the concerts, workshops and seminars were held, led by Julianna Siedler-Smuga and Slawomir Mscisz. Many thanks to the Foundation for German-Polish Cooperation and to the partner organization from Krakow. I would also like to thank Sylwia Romek, who managed the coordination in Poland. It is with great joy that I would like to invite all participants, as well as all enthusiasts and young marimba players, to the center of European music of Krzysztof Penderecki next year from 6th -8th November 2026

We had a wonderful time at the International Marimba Festiva Competition and it was inspiring so see so many young and talented artists.
After three intense days of competition and the subsequent Festiva Resonances, the winners were announced at the awards ceremony. The judges awarded 16 main prizes and five special prizes. Moreover, Bayerischer Rundfunk awarded two additional special prizes.

Congratulations to all finalists and winners!

The International Marimba Festiva Competition live rounds are approaching, and with it a new format accompanying it - our Marimba Festiva Festival with many exciting performances. All festival concerts are free of charge and donations highly appreciated.
The concerts on April 26-28 take place at the Adult Education Center and the Municipal Music School in Bamberg.

The 4th International Marimba Festiva Meetings 2024 are over - what a great weekend! 3 days, 30 participants, 7 professors and lecturers, 2 composers in residence, 50 individual lessons, 15 pieces for marimba ensembles and all this in the amazing Krzysztof Penderecki European Center for Music in Luslawice - Poland.

Many thanks to everyone involved for the fantastic atmosphere, great commitment and a lot of enthusiasm at the great concerts.

Special thanks go to Marianna Bednarska - Artistic Director, Marta Klimasara, Magdalena Kordylasińska - Pękala, Tomasz Herisz as well as the other lecturers Karin Görz, Stephanie Carr-Lemmerich and Maciej Hałoń. We would like to thank as well to Anna Ignatowicz - Glińska and Rüdiger Pawassar for their insights into the art of composition.
