On the occasion of the World Renewable Energy Day 2025 WorldREnewDay, the Global 100% Renewable Energy Platform Global100RE declares:
Today is WorldREnew Day, taking place during the UN Climate Change Conference SB62 in Bonn. Mitigating climate change has reached new urgency.. While the climate emergency is more visible than ever before, and global average warming is showing signs of exceeding 1.50C, some key organizations and political bodies are still not only denying the emergency, but also trying to create new momentum for expanding fossil fuel development and use.
However, virtually all of humanity around the world is blessed with readily-available and abundant renewable energy sources, especially solar and wind, which can provide the world with all the energy supply than it would ever need, across all end-use sectors.
WorldREnewDay was launched in 2019 to celebrate realization and further potential of the benefits of renewable energy to all communities around the world. Today, the Global 100RE Platform emphasises more than ever: Renewable energy use is already showing its potential for creating a more peaceful, just, and equitable world world by building local economies, providing energy security and access for all, and mitigating environmental impacts and climate change.
