Say hi to 𝗡𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗦𝗼𝗿𝗶 (ನಾದ 소리, meaning Resonant Sound in Kannada + Korean), a cosy evening dedicated to shared listening, co-organized by .k.wav, and .hub.berlin !

On 𝟮𝟯 𝗢𝗰𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 (𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿), we invite you into resonance and simple presence together at .berlin.

For the first two hours (from 6 to 8pm), open your ears through your hands: bring knitting, drawing, embroidery, or any small handwork to accompany the music in attentive listening.
From 8pm, the listening continues in a shared session.

✨ With (set order):

.k.wav — crafting atmospheric journeys through ambient, leftfield dance, and experimental sounds. Subtle yet powerful, her sets move through textures and rhythms like a foggy dream.

— exploring experimental and psychedelic tracks rich with samples and found sounds, that reward deep listening.

— interdisciplinary artist, researcher, and curator working between sound, performance, and media studies. Their practice engages q***r and trans archives, ecological entanglements, and care praxis through deep listening.

— DJ and sound explorer blending dreamlike psychedelia with ambient, IDM, bass, and dub. Each set unfolds with slow, hypnotic energy, opening a space for connection and immersion.

🍂 Free entry · donations welcome (suggested donation 5–10€)
Bring friends, bring your handwork, and join us for a warm autumn evening of presence and sound.

🧡 Big thanks to .berlin for hosting and supporting this event!

// Show on tonight at 2200 HKT

back in June, a frd of .hub.berlin i met when I was 2X-yo, broke, roaming around Berlin, invited me to curate a playlist for her knitting workshop 🧶 held at a listening bar .berlin. called Listening Loops, it brings participants together in a shared space of vocal silence (no talking) while knitting to the rhythm of music.

for the tracklist, I premiered some of my then-unreleased songs from 怪咖啡因 Blame It on the Caffeine, alongside older tunes and unreleased exhibition soundtracks from Sapphic Soul.

I also created a monologue for the show, titled I’m Sitting in a Room of Formosa, a transformation of Alvin Lucier’s I Am Sitting in a Room. I heard that people giggled, and I’m honored.

at the back of my mind, I’m always curious how my sound is perceived when the language isn’t understood semantically. do the words become mere syllables, or is there something more within the language itself - within Cantonese in particular? can a mother tongue be used simply as an instrument of voicing? In fact, am I avoiding contact and communication? would I be embarrassed if you did understand? can I connect with you as I disconnect from you semantically? Is there really, as Roland Barthes says, a grain within my voice?

these are the questions I’ve been asking myself throughout the production of #怪咖啡因. thank you HKCR for giving me the platform to share this intimate work. and shoutout to .hub.berlin for the amazing event, even though I couldn’t be there physically.

tune-in — 🪩HKCR.live

For 𝟝𝟘 𝔾𝕣𝕒𝕞𝕞 𝕂𝕦𝕟𝕤𝕥 at KINDL Berlin, every artwork had to weigh 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝟱𝟬𝗴.
I thought I’d saved enough cat fur over the years to knit a beanie… but turns out it just met the bare minimum for this show.
Submitted this collective household effort in a box — now gently floating in a net thanks to the lovely curators. 💫

First things first: 𝙡𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙪𝙥 𝙤𝙣𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚 — 𝙘𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙩𝙤𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙩 23:59.

We move through images all day.
Listening fades beneath them: a subconscious stream.

But what happens when we bring listening forward?
When the hands are occupied with simple rhythm, and the ears open with intention?

Knitting gives the hands presence.
Music gives the ears space.
Together they create a quiet loop: of drifting and returning, of noticing and letting go.

This Saturday happens to be International Knit in Public Day — a worldwide celebration of gathering, making, and sharing craft in community. What better way to mark it than through the practice of silent knitting and deep listening?

𝙇𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙇𝙤𝙤𝙥𝙨 is a space for this practice.
A silent knitting session with curated sound.
An invitation to listen, to make, to be.

Online registration closes tonight at 23:59 — to ensure space for all and prepare the room.

📍 .berlin (Lindower Str. 19, 13347 Berlin)
🔊 In collaboration with Taiwan-based Hong Kong poet-musician

Join us for an intimate afternoon of knitting, listening, and sensing together.

Inspired by Quiet Listening Thursdays at .berlin , Listening Loops is a gentle gathering inviting us to open our ears and slow down. With curated soundscapes by and HupHub, we’ll explore how music shapes our awareness of texture, movement, and rhythm, or simply immerse ourselves in a meditative silence, knitting side by side.

Between playlists, we’ll pause to reflect and connect!

This is not a workshop or a performance, but a shared space to notice how sound affects the body, how attention drifts, how the mind calms through repetition and rhythm.

✨ All levels welcome. Please bring your own knitting or crochet project. 🧶
🎟️ 5€ registration fee — redeemable for one non-alcoholic drink or a glass of Migas’ Vermouth.

👉 To register, please fill out the form at https://bit.ly/3SEVFmB (also linked in our profile).
You’ll receive payment details to secure your spot. Spots are limited. Reserve soon!

Special thanks to .berlin for hosting us, and to my lovely knitting community, led by , for their support and inspiration. 🫶

For nearly 2 years, I had a strange condition: constant hiccups. They’d only stop when I was asleep or around others. Swallowing became hard. I saw every specialist you can think of, but no diagnosis.

One day out of frustration, I wandered into a yarn shop. Why not knit my partner a scarf for Christmas?

Two weeks later, during the brioche repeat (thanks YouTube!), my partner asked, “have you noticed your hiccups are gone?” And he was right!

Later I learned from a pro at that the rhythmic motion of knitting mimics jogging, that releases dopamine and calms the nervous system. Since then, knitting has been my go-to for stress. Even 15 minutes helps! It’s also opened the door to a kind, colorful community that’s helped with my social anxiety.

We’re now working on something special, something sensory, and of course, it involves knitting! More to come next week. 👀

Here’s a pile of my hand-knitted jumpers from the past 2.5 years. I was in my black/white/grey/navy phase before that, but yarn colors are hard to resist! (Also knitting black is 😵‍💫)

Got a stress reliever that works for you? Tell us 🧶💬

📼✨ “To collect photographs is to collect the world.” – Susan Sontag
Collecting film footage, then, might be a way of collecting a moving world.

A while ago, we visited Stephan Konopatzky, who has built a remarkable private film archive from his lifelong fascination with analog media, especially home movies on film, slides, and other visual traces of everyday life.

As people who want to create and share, our first instinct was to wonder: how could someone hold so much powerful footage and not turn it into something, like a documentary, a poetry film, or some kind of "finished" piece?

But looking back now I think: the work is already being done!

Archiving is the work.
Digitizing, cataloguing, preserving, rewatching: the quiet, unglamorous care of protecting what others might overlook. It’s not about turning memory into product. It’s about holding space for it to exist, with or without being “used.” That alone is meaningful.

I was so fascinated when we first made videos of Stephan digitizing old family reels. But we’ve agreed to film new material, once the table’s a bit more orderly 😄 and we can better capture the quiet beauty of his process. Stay tuned! And if you ever need beautifully digitized footage from old film reels for your own creations, don’t hesitate to reach out to Stephan at https://zeitstreifen.de

“The archivist produces more archive, and that is why the archive is never closed. It opens out of the future.”
– Jacques Derrida, Archive Fever (1995)
