Looking forward to “Bildräume der Solidarität” (“Image Spaces of Solidarity”), opening on Saturday, June 20, 2026, 5 pm at Villa Heike Kunstverein in Berlin Alt-Hohenschönhausen!
In a time of increasing social inequality, ecological crises, and political polarization, the question of solidarity is becoming more urgent once again. Where do people stand up for others or for a cause? Where do alliances and shared goals emerge? And when does an expression of solidarity actually become solidarity?
The exhibition brings together artistic works that approach these questions in different ways. They render solidarity visible, examine its conditions, or understand themselves as part of solidaristic processes. In doing so, the focus shifts from representation to relation: toward networks, forms of cohesion, and resistance that unfold between people, images, and institutions.
