Is “sustainability” still enough for our future? 🤔

For years, was the golden word. But today, preserving the status quo is no longer enough. We need – of systems, communities, and our mindset.

While sustainability aims to limit damage, regeneration goes further:

It doesn’t just stop degeneration – it recovers, rebuilds, and creates a new state that is liveable, stable, and resilient.

With our social learning platform ReGen.rocks, we are building the bridge from degeneration to regeneration. We connect knowledge with action, inner capabilities with outer change, and vision with tangible steps toward a regenerative world🌍.

Rethink education 🔄🎓

The future of our world lies in the hands of 2.3 billion children and young people. Education is the key to preparing them for the challenges – and opportunities – of sustainability.

At ReGen.rocks, we take a holistic, action-oriented approach to education. We don’t just impart knowledge – we empower young people to take their own path, implement their ideas, and create real change.

Our approach combines:

1️⃣ Sustainability knowledge ( ): understanding the global challenges

2️⃣ Motivation through : inspiring action and engagement

3️⃣ Personal competencies ( ): building the inner skills needed to act

4️⃣ Application through project-based learning ( ): turning knowledge into real-world impact

Because learning is powerful only when it leads to action. With ReGen.rocks, we’re helping the next generation become active shapers of regenerative futures.

Can you learn or work on an empty stomach? 🤯

Imagine sitting in a classroom, trying to focus – while your stomach aches from hunger.

300 million children go to school hungry every day.

Hunger is one of the biggest barriers to learning, trapping entire communities in cycles of poverty.

While digital tools and e-learning can expand access to education, proper nutrition is essential for focus, cognitive development, and long-term success. Education and nutrition must go hand in hand. Let’s make sure no child has to choose between hunger and learning.

🤔 Could better thinking save the world?

What if the greatest solutions for global challenges start with how we think?

The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) highlight essential cognitive skills – critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation – needed to drive real change. In a world facing complex sustainability issues, learning how to think is just as important as what to think.

With ReGen4futures, we integrate IDG 2: "Thinking" into our educational programs, helping young people develop the skills to analyze, innovate, and create solutions for better futures. These abilities are directly linked to SDG 4 – Quality Education – ensuring that knowledge leads to actionable change.

A sustainable world needs strong minds. Let’s develop them together.

BREAKING IDG NEWS 🥳

Last week at the IDG Summit in Stockholm something subtle yet powerful happened.
The Inner Development Goals were refined – and one goal now carries a word that changes everything:

💚

The IDG cluster “Acting – Leading and Enabling Change” has been expanded to include a new focus:

🌍 Conscious Use of Resources 🌍

That means:

“Acting with awareness of the planet’s limited natural resources, prioritizing conservation, regeneration, and frugality to avoid harmful consumption.”

This reflects the growing call for regeneration – a shift from sustaining what exists towards restoring what has been lost.

Why this matters:
✅ The inclusion of regeneration in the IDGs highlights just how profound and future-oriented this shift is - not a mere addition, but a central new orientation for global change.

✅ It signals that regeneration as a guiding principle is now recognized and embraced worldwide - marking a strategic turning point for leadership, transformation, and sustainability.

For ReGen4Futures and our social learning platform ReGen.rocks, this update feels deeply aligned.

🌉 Because the World Needs Bridges

The world today is marked by deep divides – socially, politically, environmentally, and technologically. These polarities often pull us apart, making it harder to focus on what truly matters: creating a flourishing future for all generations.

At the IDG Summit 2025 in Stockholm (October 15–17), the global community will gather around the theme Bridging Polarities – exploring how inner development can spark outer change and regenerative systems. It’s not just a theme, it’s a call for leadership that embraces interconnection and impact in challenging times.

With ReGen4futures we follow the same mission: building bridges. Our initiative connects the “Me” with the “We”, linking knowledge to action. And through ReGen.rocks – our social learning platform for youth – we empower the next generation to learn, practice, and grow together. The IDGs (Inner Development Goals) are at the very heart of our education concept.

💡 Most people haven’t heard of the Inner Development Goals (IDGs)… yet they are crucial for our future.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) show us what needs to change for a better future. But knowing the plan isn’t enough – we often lack the inner skills to turn knowledge into action.

The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) were created to fill this gap. This global, open-source framework, co-developed by 1,000+ experts, defines 5 dimensions and 23 skills that help individuals, teams, and organizations turn knowledge into real action.

The 5 IDG Dimensions:

1️⃣ Being: cultivating inner life & integrity
2️⃣ Thinking: developing critical & complex perspectives
3️⃣ Relating: fostering empathy & connectedness
4️⃣ Collaborating: building trust & inclusive teamwork
5️⃣ Acting: driving change with courage & creativity

At ReGen4futures, we bring this framework into practice. With ReGen.rocks, our social learning platform for youth, the IDGs are at the very heart of our education concept. We believe regeneration begins within – by learning, training, and embodying these 23 skills, young people can transform knowledge into collective action.

Over 700 million people still live on less than $3.00 a day, struggling with extreme poverty. That's approximately 8.5% of the global population.

SDG 1 (Sustainable Development Goal 1: No Poverty) is part of the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which aim to tackle the world’s biggest challenges by 2030. It focuses on ensuring that everyone, everywhere can live a life free from extreme poverty.

💡 Achieving this goal is complex, but there are inspiring organizations making a real difference:

Bees Abroad: Empowers rural communities in Sub-Saharan Africa through beekeeping training, fostering sustainable livelihoods.
Hand in Hand Eastern Africa: Supports women in underserved areas to start businesses, lifting families out of poverty.
(ASAP): Mobilizes academics to address severe poverty through research, policy, and advocacy.
People in Need: Provides humanitarian aid and development assistance in over 40 countries.
Concern Worldwide : Tackles poverty and suffering in the world's poorest countries through emergency response and long-term programs.

👩‍🎓 ReGen4futures integrates all 17 SDGs into the curriculum of our social e-learning platform ReGen.rocks. On ReGen.rocks, young people learn about these goals and are empowered to take sustainable, regenerative action.

Beside the SDGs as a knowledge base, we focus on personal skills, motivation, and practical application. Learn more about our educational concept here: https://regen4futures.org/.../disc.../education-with-impact/

Who inspires you to believe in a better future?

Around the world, powerful stories of courage and compassion are shaping tomorrow - and one of them belongs to .

As the official patron of ReGen4futures, Domitila is more than an inspiration - she’s a living example of how education, resilience, and purpose can transform lives and communities. Born into poverty in the “Linha do Tiro” favela in Recife, Brazil, Domitila’s life could have been defined by hardship. Instead, she turned adversity into a mission for change.

At just 13 years old, she was already teaching street children to read and write through theatre and dance. By 15, she was recognized by UNESCO as a , proving that education is the most powerful tool to break cycles of poverty.

Her journey took her from Recife to Berlin, where she earned a master’s degree in social and political studies, became 2022 and founded the sustainable fashion brand She is from the Jungle empowering women in her hometown. Today, she is a global advocate for sustainability, education, and social justice.

🌍Now, as ReGen4futures’s Patron, she’s helping us inspire the next generation. The Generation , short . With our free social e-learning platform, we equip young people with the knowledge, the network and tools to drive change – just as Domitila has.

Her story proves that education isn’t just learning – it’s liberation.

What a ride - and it all started with one conversation

1 + 1 never just equals 2.

When Daniel and Helen met at the , something clicked. His talk set something in motion and made us rethink a lot.
Marc didn’t just inspire us. He became our mentor. Together, we reshaped our mission, expanded our vision, and shifted our focus:

- From sustainability to real regeneration
- From goals alone to goals + mindset
- From isolated actions to a shared re-mindset. Rethinking, relearning, regenerating - as Generation Re(generation). Short
Marc said something that still guides us:

“Sustainable change begins when we connect the outer world with the inner world. The SDGs are the goals. The IDGs show the way. They belong together.”

That’s what Regen4Futures is all about: A movement at the intersection of the and – uniting global goals with inner growth. Because real change needs both: a compass within and a map to guide the way. We empower young people with the mindset and skills to protect nature, strengthen communities, and build a future that works.

For people. For planet.

With , and at the core.
Not just knowledge - but inner development that leads to real-world change.

And yes:
Marc Buckley + ReGen4futures = more than 2.

Together, we’re co-creating a movement.
