We are a platform for refugees to meet locals.The program supports refugees’ integration at an early stage, makes them feel welcome, provides them w. help.

Connecting Buddies is a buddy program with the goal of bonding volunteers from Berlin with refugees from all over the world. The buddy helps the refugee by answering his or her questions, by showing them Berlin or by just becoming a friend. On the other hand, the refugee can teach the buddy about his or her culture, so that awareness and respect for each other can grow on both sides. This project has the intention of helping refugees by making them feel more welcome, to integrate them in our society at an early stage, to allow them to get to know the new culture they are now part of and to find their way into a normal life. Also, this allows people who are willing to help to donate their time (instead of money) and to get to know a different culture and maybe also to understand, why the refugees have come to us in the first place. With this program, a multicultural society can develop, because it provides refugees with a chance to integrate themselves – but also because we will encounter them with more knowledge and sympathy.
