Prague is loud. This one’s for the 24 hours away.

September 26–27, we’re leaving the city for a night Hotel Sen Congress&Spa Hotel just outside Prague. Doing this one with our first trip together!

Thermal pools, the sauna world, dinner to lunch, a goooood night of sleep, little surprised and great people from the Club.

You don’t need a plus one. You have us 🫶🏼

I almost cut the mistakes out of this video. Then I realised that’s not who we are. We don’t take ourselves too seriously.

A year of the Expat Club, built on showing up as we are, not as we’re supposed to be.

Come celebrate with us at the Community Picnic, thrown in collab with .time.locals this Saturday, 16:00, Stromovka.

Bring food, drink, maybe a blanket but some good freaking vibes and dogs please! Friends aren’t necessary, we’ll have plenty.. but they’re welcome too 🌞

Link in bio to RSVP we need rough numbers, because there’s Polaroids, pizza slices, and welcome drinks for the early birds 🍕📸

Come solo, come with friends, you don’t need to know anyone here. Just bring your favourite food and drink, good music and vibes are sorted 🪩

The Foreigners We Know
Vol. 28: Steve Steve Borg

If you’ve been to a few of our events, chances are you’ve bumped into Steve. He’s become one of the lovely familiar faces in our community, somehow managed to collect quite a few friends along the way, and today he’s sharing the story of how he ended up in Prague. And we are here for it 💌 well done Steve Borg 🍻

“I hail from the sunny island of Malta. Prior to Malta I was living in Ireland. Since living in a bigger island wasn’t enough, I moved to mainland Europe.

It wasn’t really in the plan to come to Prague. I originally thought that I would stay in Ireland, to make my life a bit easier with the job search, the language and driving on the left but in October 2022 I moved here with no work and no place to stay. Clearly, learning a Slavic language, change of currency, and other cultural nuances were what I was secretly missing in my life.

In 2 years living here in I switched from sales to academia and began teaching psychology at Anglo American University, doing teacher-training courses and working as a mental health counsellor.

To keep myself sane, I do daily yoga, prepare a terrific high protein chia-seed yoghurt and lately started climbing.

When I look back, Prague was the place where aspects of my life finally got together, navigating friendships as an adult, doing the job I always wanted, living by myself, mastering the air fryer game but also other aspects that irremediably got torn apart as well. Through the good, the bad and the ugly I had become an adult here.

Back in 2015, during my final year of university, I had a psychology conference in Czech Republic. It was my first time ever in CZ. I was exposed to a variety of cultures, professions in psychology and Czech beer, and I’ve been wondering since then, if this is all coming to a circle”
