Last Wednesday, Generation For Ukraine was honoured to attend a round table discussion hosted by the Embassy of France in Prague on the occasion of the International Day of Women in Diplomacy.

The event brought together women diplomats and media professionals who shared their experiences of working in international affairs, particularly in the context of Ukraine after the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The discussion highlighted the important role women play in diplomacy, journalism, strengthening international dialogue, and ensuring that accurate information reaches global audiences.

We had the opportunity to hear valuable perspectives from Ms Oleksandra Yanushevska, Economic Counsellor at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic, Ms Kate Davenport, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Embassy in the Czech Republic, Ms Marie Paret, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of France in the Central African Republic, and Ms Darja Stomatová, correspondent for Česká televize in Ukraine.

We were also honoured by the presence of H.E. Vasyl Zvarych, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Czech Republic. Our thanks go to the Embassy of France in Prague for organising this important conversation and to Mr Daniel Jirku from the Embassy of Finland in Prague for moderating the discussion.

At Generation For Ukraine, we value opportunities that bring together voices committed to supporting Ukraine, promoting understanding, and strengthening international cooperation.

🇫🇮 In the sixth episode of Disinfo Brief, we invited His Excellency Pasi Tuominen, Ambassador of Finland in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, to unpack Finland’s
resilience towards disinformation. We talked about the main elements of Finland’s
long-standing democratic tradition that make it possible to stand strong in the
face of malign influence in the public space.

🧐 Alternative approach: preparing the society to resist disinformation instead of
reacting to its spread?

🎓 What role does education play in societal resilience?

On March 30, we held an event that became not only a space for screening and discussion, but also for a deeper understanding of the scale of crimes committed against Ukrainian children.

Together with experts in international law, human rights, and security policy - Pavel Havlíček, Kateryna Rashevska, and Veronika Bílková - we spoke about what stands behind the numbers: the real lives of children, the systematic nature of these crimes, and the complex path toward their return.

We were also honored by the opening remarks of Ambassador Vasyl Zvarych, who emphasized the urgency of this issue and its importance not only for Ukraine, but for the international community.

The discussion was further enriched by the participation of Claudio Javier Rozencwaig, Ambassador of Argentina to the Czech Republic, representing a country that is part of the International Coalition for the Return of Ukrainian Children.

For us, it was important to bring together youth, members of the diplomatic community, and experts in one space, so that this issue is voiced not only in official statements, but also through open, meaningful dialogue.

We especially value the opportunity for this direct exchange of perspectives and the attention of international partners to this topic. It is through such events that awareness, support, and shared responsibility are built.

We thank everyone who joined and became part of this conversation.

Shevchenko’s legacy continues to bring Ukrainians together across generations and borders. This Monday in Prague, the community gathered to reflect on his ideas, poetry, and the enduring role he plays in Ukraine’s cultural and national identity.

The day began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Taras Shevchenko monument near Švandovo divadlo, where members of the Ukrainian community and friends of Ukraine came together to honour one of the most influential voices in Ukrainian history.

Later, Generation for Ukraine co-organised a lecture titled "Shevchenko Through the Ages: Struggles for Ukrainian Independence," held at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Czech Republic in cooperation with Asociace MOST UA-CZ.

The event brought together students, community members, and guests interested in exploring Shevchenko’s role in Ukrainian history and the continued relevance of his ideas today. The discussion highlighted how his writings shaped national consciousness and remain deeply connected to Ukraine’s ongoing struggle for freedom.

During the program, awards were also presented to the winners of the literary competition dedicated to the Shevchenko Days.

The lecture featured speakers Taras Katrun and Sofia Levytska, who shared historical and cultural perspectives on Shevchenko’s legacy.

We are grateful to everyone who joined, participated, and helped make this event meaningful for the Ukrainian community in Prague.
