Welcome on the site of the 17th Airborne Division Re-enactors from the Czech Republic Chapter. We are a group of people interested in the military history, mainly era of the World War II. Our unit is attending on local re-enactment events as well as events abroad and we can proudly say, that we are a part of wide European community. We have decided to portray members of the 17th Airborne Division,
and this presentation is focused on each member and unit of the 17th Airborne Division. On our website you will find useful information regarding the unit we are portraying, as well as other information related to military history of US Army during WWII like markings, equipment, weapons and other relative stuff. Inspiration and driving force to build this website was the goal to remember all victims, people, soldiers which were forced to live this war. With all that we are doing in the re-enactment, we are trying to show respect and gratitude to all of them. We would like to thank for the support all of our friends-veterans of the 17th Airborne Division, as they have not only supported us with stories, facts and materials, but they also invited us to the final reunion in Hampton (VA) in the year 2007, where we could meet them in person and make some great friendships with them. Since then we have met several times with them and we hope to continue so. Nevertheless we would like to thank our families and friends for their support and understanding. Tyto stránky a naše činnost se soustřeďuje na historii a muže 17. výsadkové divize, která se bohužel netěší takové publicitě a pozornosti jako ostatní americké výsadkové divize bojujících za druhé světové války v Evropě. Budeme se průběžně snažit tyto stránky doplňovat o informace, příběhy a fotografie, které se dostanou k našim rukám. Chceme Vám přiblížit i osudy jednotlivých mužů sloužících pod hlavičkou 17. výsadkové divize, abychom všem připomněli, co byli tito hrdinové schopni a ochotni obětovat pro vítězství, svobodu a mír. Děkujeme tímto za podporu, které se nám dostalo ze strany válečných veteránů, bez kterých by tyto stránky v této podobě nikdy nevznikly, děkujeme asociaci 17. výsadkové divize, že nám umožnila zúčastnit se posledního setkání veteránů v roce 2007 v Hamptonu v USA a v neposlední řadě také děkujeme našim rodinám za trpělivost a jejich podporu v naší činnosti.
