🌍 at the Kick-off Meeting — Foggia, 29–30 September 🌱

We were proud to join the -off meeting of INTERESH (Innovation for Territorial Cohesion around Soil Health) - a Horizon Europe action led by the University of Foggia.

INTERESH establishes an Apulia Living Lab to co-design and validate region-specific measures for soil health, through four experimental actions:
1️⃣ Nature-based solutions in olive systems
2️⃣ Precision fertigation & water reuse for tomato cultivation
3️⃣ Bio-fertilizer–based cultivation formulas
4️⃣ A data-driven Regional Action Plan integrating **Large Language Models (LLMs)** with GIS/LPIS, satellite, IoT, and regulatory data

The project supports the goals of the EU Mission Soil and leverages the Hub as a key digital facility for training and decision support.

At the meeting, Karel Charvat (CCSS) presented outputs relevant to INTERESH, including Šumavaprodukt, Info4Agro, and the PoliRuralPlus Hub. His presentation focused on developments within the stack and related retrieval-augmented modules - PoliRuralPlus and - as core enablers for and geospatial integration workflows.

🌍 Kick-off of the INTERESH Project 🌱
Fondazione Fenice Onlus took part in the Kick-off Meeting of the HORIZON project INTERESH, held in Foggia on 29–30 September 2025.
The project brings together farmers, SMEs, universities, and public institutions to address soil health challenges through innovative, evidence-based approaches. Fenice will lead Work Package 5: LCA Assessment, ensuring that the environmental, social, and economic impacts of the pilot actions are carefully evaluated.

🔎 What INTERESH aims to achieve:
A systemic approach to soil management in participating countries, rooted in science and pilot results.
Improved policy-making and support measures for innovative farming and related services.
Higher “soil management literacy” in farming companies.
Stronger business capacity to generate and scale innovative soil solutions.
Widespread uptake of soil health practices, improving measurable parameters within 3 years.
Greater societal awareness of soil and environmental health, involving schools, CSOs, and citizens.

🌱 Pilot Actions in Apulia Region:
Nature-Based Solutions.
Fertigation and water management.
Cultivation formulas using biofertilizers.
A Data-Driven Regional Action Plan for Agriculture.
Alongside these pilots, INTERESH will also develop capacity-building activities, including MOOCs to train farming businesses and local communities, and establish a Policy Lab to co-design monitoring plans and validate recommendations for soil health.

🌍 Avvio del Progetto INTERESH 🌱
Fondazione Fenice Onlus ha partecipato al Kick-off Meeting del Progetto HORIZON INTERESH, che si è tenuto a Foggia il 29–30 settembre 2025.
Il progetto riunisce agricoltori, PMI, università e istituzioni pubbliche per affrontare le sfide legate alla salute del suolo attraverso approcci innovativi e basati sull’evidenza scientifica. Fenice coordinerà il Work Package 5: LCA Assessment, garantendo la valutazione degli impatti ambientali, sociali ed economici delle azioni pilota.

🔎 Obiettivi principali di INTERESH:
Promuovere un approccio sistemico alla gestione del suolo nei paesi partecipanti, fondato su evidenze scientifiche e risultati dei piloti.
Migliorare le politiche e le misure di sostegno per l’innovazione in agricoltura e nei servizi collegati.
Accrescere la “soil management literacy” all’interno delle aziende agricole.
Rafforzare la capacità delle imprese di generare e scalare soluzioni innovative per il suolo.
Favorire un’adozione diffusa di pratiche per la salute del suolo, con miglioramenti misurabili entro 3 anni.
Aumentare la consapevolezza nella società sull’importanza della salute del suolo e dell’ambiente, coinvolgendo scuole, associazioni e cittadini.

🌱 Azioni pilota nella Regione Puglia:
Soluzioni basate sulla natura.
Fertirrigazione e gestione dell’acqua.
Formule colturali basate su biofertilizzanti.
Piano d’Azione Regionale Data-Driven per l’Agricoltura.
Parallelamente a queste azioni, INTERESH svilupperà attività di capacity building, tra cui MOOC per formare imprese agricole e comunità locali, e lancerà un Policy Lab per co-progettare piani di monitoraggio e validare raccomandazioni sulla salute del suolo.

🌍 Proud to be part of the DALIA Danube Lighthouse Project! 🌊

Czech Center for Science and Society was honored to participate in this inspiring event showcasing true cross-border collaboration within the DALIA Danube Lighthouse Project.

The Riversaver platform was presented at the international DALIA meeting following the VI. Bodrog PET Cup in Bodrogkeresztúr (Hungary) — bringing together experts from across the Danube region to exchange knowledge, visit the Folyómentő Centre in Olaszliszka, and experience the innovative PETii boat in action. 🚣‍♀️

Together with our partners, we’re working to address water management and plastic pollution challenges in the Danube River Basin, home to nearly 80 million people across 19 European countries.
