Beautiful kind, giving & fun loving young girl was happily playing volleyball & rounders on the beach just last bank holiday, going school and enjoying gymnastics.
Out of the blue this amazingly sweet 12 yrs old was found to have a large brain tumor hidden behind her left eye.
Happy go lucky Eliza started to complain of migraines around 9 month ago, which was thought be just be hormonal changes at this age. Then she developed problems with her vision 8 weeks ago, after seeing numberous eye doctors without any findings to the cause.
She was then referred from her hometown in Paphos to Nicosia for a MRI scan 2 weeks ago.
The MRI scan the results shown a large tumor that was putting pressure & pressing on the brain it was so large.
This shock discovery became an extraordinaryly urgent matter to have it removed ASAP.
Unfortunately they were unable to leave hospital, feeling anxious, uncertain & attentively waiting news on how and when this urgent life saving brain surgery could take place. Roughly a week or so later the specialist brain surgery took place in Nicosia Hospital.
Brave Eliza I now call "Warrior Princess Eliza" was put on a adults ward for the Specialist brain surgery, after a very long, scary and unimaginable 9 hours in surgery Warrior Princess Eliza was brought into ICU. They believed the surgery was going to take around 3 hours, however it took 9 long hours but they had managed to successfully remove all of this huge tumor.
This was such a relief for the family & I'm sure anyone of us can relate to such a young child having such a sudden and scary discovery and serious brain surgery. This sad but serious circumstances has impacted the whole families lives.
Now currently making a promising recovery with her family around showing lots of love and support!
Recovery is now a long journey ahead, we want to raise money as a surprise towards any future help/support/aftercare needed for Eliza's recovery, perhaps even a holiday of a lifetime!
