Cyprus Seeds

Cyprus Seeds We support scientific teams to take their research from lab to the market. Cyprus Seeds is therefore more than just a grant program.

It is a unique initiative to create a hub of excellence in which academic research teams will get top-tier business education and mentor support to create successful businesses. Cyprus Seeds is the first but necessary step of a long path towards building a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem around the universities of Cyprus – an ecosystem leveraging the research work being carried out in the un

iversities and research institutions of Cyprus. Cyprus Seeds runs a 12-month program for a second year. The second cycle will run from November 2020 to November 2021.

Advancing precision in medical imaging is a growing priority for healthcare innovation, and M3Phantom, part of our 4th cohort, reflects how Cyprus Seeds supports research teams working toward this goal. Developed at the Frederick Research Center (Frederick University Cyprus), the team presents, through its first video, their multipurpose, multimodality anthropomorphic thorax phantom designed to improve imaging accuracy for tumors and cardiac diseases📡🏥

M3Phantom simulates realistic thoracic motion and disease conditions, enabling clearer imaging, improved treatment planning and reduced healthcare costs. With 1,500 hours of testing across three imaging modalities in six hospitals in Cyprus and abroad, and successful intercomparison with patient images, the team is progressing step by step toward real world application and integration into clinical training, medical device development and AI driven imaging workflows. 🤝
