When you look up at the night sky, it feels endless. Thousands of stars twinkling, stretching across the black velvet of space.
But here’s the mind-blowing truth every single star you’ve ever seen with your eyes… fits inside that tiny yellow circle on the Milky Way image.

That circle represents just a tiny neighborhood of our galaxy our local corner of the Milky Way.
Beyond it?
Billions of stars.
Countless planets.
Nebulas, black holes, and mysteries we can’t even imagine.

The Milky Way alone holds over 400 billion stars and our Sun is just one of them.
Yet the human eye can only see around 5,000 from Earth, even on the clearest night.
So that glowing sky you see above?
It’s just the smallest glimpse of something infinitely larger.

Next time you stare at the stars, remember —
you’re not just looking at dots of light.
You’re looking at the edges of a cosmic masterpiece,
and we’re living deep inside it.

Asteroid vs meteor vs comet ?
Asteroids, meteors, and comets are all space rocks, but they differ in size, composition, and behavior. Asteroids are rocky objects that orbit the Sun, typically found in the asteroid belt. Comets are icy bodies that also orbit the Sun, but they often develop a glowing head (coma) and tail as they approach the Sun. Meteoroids are smaller space rocks, fragments of asteroids or comets. When a meteoroid enters Earth's atmosphere and burns up, it's called a meteor. If a meteor survives its fiery passage through the atmosphere and lands on Earth, it's called a meteorite.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

Asteroids:
Composition: Primarily made of rock and metal.
Orbit: They orbit the Sun, primarily in the asteroid belt between Mars and Jupiter.
Size: Can range from a few meters to hundreds of kilometers in diameter.
Behavior: Remain relatively unchanged unless they collide with another object.
Comets:
Composition: Primarily made of ice, dust, and rock.
Orbit: Have highly elliptical orbits that take them far out into the solar system and then close to the sun.
Behavior: As they approach the sun, the ice sublimates (turns to gas), creating a coma (a cloud of gas and dust) and a tail that can be seen from Earth.
Meteoroids:
Composition: Fragments of asteroids or comets.
Orbit: Their orbits are influenced by the objects they originated from.
Size: Range in size from dust grains to small boulders.
Meteors:
Composition: A meteoroid that enters Earth's atmosphere.
Behavior: Burns up due to friction with the atmosphere, creating a bright streak of light (a "shooting star").
Meteor Shower: When Earth encounters a large number of meteoroids at once.
Meteorites:
Composition: A meteoroid that survives its passage through the atmosphere and lands on Earth's surface.
