Continuous demands, deadlines, and multiple roles often lead to a state in which attention is constantly directed toward what comes next, while contact with the present moment gradually weakens.
The results of such a rhythm is the accumulation of distress and the gradual depletion of internal resources which in some women may, over time, develop burnout.
Unlike stress, which is often temporary and linked to specific demand, burnout is a chronic state of exhaustion that does not resolve with rest and is characterized by emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion, a sense of reduced efficiency and loss of professional confidence, withdrawal, detachment, and loss of motivation.
Although it manifests at the individual level, in employed women these states are largely shaped by the way the work environment is organized and the demands placed upon them.
Mindfulness, as an evidence-based approach, focuses attention on the "HERE and NOW" and, through short and clearly structured techniques, contributes to stress reduction and the preservation of psychological stability, while simultaneously strengthening person coping capacities.
Thought the activities of the Centre for Applied psychology (.org.rs), this approach id developed in tho directions - by empowering employed women, and bay raising awareness of the importance of working conditions for mental health.
