Due to the disruption of classes brought about by the prevailing weather conditions, the schedule of the 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦 𝐄𝐱𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 has been 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐝 to provide students and faculty with sufficient time to prepare and to ensure that academic activities can proceed in an orderly manner.

With this adjustment, everyone is advised to disregard the previously issued memorandum regarding the Midterm Examination schedule, as the dates indicated therein have been superseded by the newly rectified schedule.

We encourage everyone to take note of the new dates and make the necessary adjustments to your study plans, schedules, and other preparations. Kindly stay updated for any succeeding announcements regarding the detailed examination schedule and other relevant instructions.

The University Student Council (USC) acknowledges the concerns raised by students regarding the current weather conditions and the possibility of class suspension due to heavy rainfall.

Please be informed that the USC has been actively coordinating and communicating with the University Administration regarding these concerns. We recognize the importance of ensuring the safety and welfare of all students, faculty members, and personnel, especially during adverse weather conditions.

However, we would also like to clarify that the declaration of class suspensions is governed by existing university policies, guidelines, and protocols. Such decisions undergo proper assessment and due process and cannot be implemented solely upon request or preference. While the USC serves as the voice of the student body and continuously relays student concerns to the appropriate offices, the authority to declare suspensions remains subject to established institutional procedures.

Furthermore, we would like to clarify that the anonymous post currently circulating regarding this matter did not originate from the University Student Council. As a student government, we uphold the principles of transparency, accountability, and responsible communication. We release official statements through our authorized platforms and ensure that all information disseminated by the USC bears proper accountability and representation.

In the meantime, the USC strongly encourages students to prioritize their safety. If you believe that traveling to campus poses a risk to your well-being due to weather conditions or other related circumstances, please exercise your judgment accordingly. We advise affected students to communicate with their respective instructors and respectfully seek consideration regarding their situation.

The USC remains committed to monitoring developments, relaying student concerns to the administration, and advocating for the welfare of the student body. We ask everyone to remain vigilant, stay informed through official university channels, and prioritize safety at all times.

𝐑𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐞 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐂𝐒𝐁𝐎 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧; 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐳𝐚 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫

Subsequent to the election of former Chairperson Michael Dean M. Malonzo to the University Student Council (USC), and pursuant to CSBO Resolution No. 2, Series of 2026–2027, former Vice Chairperson Edrian D. Rocaberte assumed the office of Chairperson of the CSBO. Due to the said succession, the Office of the Vice Chairperson became vacant.

Consequently, in accordance with the Student Handbook, Article XI - Vacancies and Succession, Section 2, a Special Election was held on July 15, 2026, during which Hermes Aldrich J. Mendoza was elected as the new Vice Chairperson to fill the said vacancy.

Through the implementation of succession process and conduct of Special Election, the CSBO is further reiterating its stand on having a consistent and stable leadership that will provide quality service to the SLUC studentry for the academic year 2026-2027.

𝑪𝑺𝑩𝑶 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒕𝒔 𝑶𝒂𝒕𝒉-𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝑶𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈

The Campus Student Body Organization (CSBO), together with the College Student Council (CSC) Governors and Mayors, successfully conducted its Oath-Taking Ceremony, Operational Plan Presentation, and General Meeting on July 17, 2026, at Eriguel Hall. The activity brought together student leaders to officially begin their service for the academic year.

The program started with the Oath-Taking Ceremony, where the newly elected Vice Chairperson, Hermes Aldrich Mendoza, took the oath of office alongside the CSBO officers and the CSC Governors and Mayors. The ceremony marked their commitment to serve the student body with integrity and dedication.

Following the oath-taking, the Operational Plan Presentation was held. The CSC Governors presented their plans first, followed by the Mayors, and lastly, the CSBO Executive Officers. Each group shared their proposed programs and activities for the academic year.

The event concluded with a General Meeting led by the CSBO Chairperson. The discussion focused on the appointment of CSC Committee Heads, organizational updates, and the implementation of official uniforms. The meeting also served as an opportunity for student leaders to align their goals and prepare for the upcoming activities.

The gathering marked the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership, highlighting the commitment of the CSBO and CSC officers to work together in serving the student community throughout Academic Year 2026–2027.

𝐂𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐔𝐒 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄 | Pursuant to Campus Student Body Organization Resolution No. 02, Series of 2026-2027, which approved the succession of the former Vice Chairperson to the position of Chairperson following the appointment of the former Chairperson as the Student Regent, the position of Vice Chairperson is hereby declared vacant.

In accordance with Article XI - Vacancies and Succession, Section 2 of the Student Handbook, a Special Election shall be conducted to fill the vacant position of Vice Chairperson.

Interested students may file their Certificate of Candidacy on July 13, 2026. The official campaign period shall be held on July 14, 2026, while the Special Election will take place on July 15, 2026, through online voting via Google Forms.

𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢 𝐬𝐚 𝐀𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐒𝐂 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭!

Isang natatanging yugto para sa pamumuno at kapakanan ng mga mag-aaral!

Buong-puso nating binabati si Michael Dean M. Malonzo, isang dedikadong mag-aaral mula sa South La Union Campus, sa kanyang opisyal na pagkakahalal bilang Presidente ng University Student Council (USC) sa Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU). Ang tagumpay na ito ay pormal na kinilala noong ika-8 ng Hulyo.

Ang pamumuno sa hanay ng mga mag-aaral ng DMMMSU ay may kalakip na malaking responsibilidad—ang itaguyod ang kapakanan, pakikilahok, at kakayahan ng bawat mag-aaral. Ibinahagi ni President Dean ang kanyang pangarap para sa isang mas nagkakaisang samahan. Binigyang-diin niya na ang tunay na pamumuno ay nagsisimula sa loob, at hindi epektibong makapaglilingkod ang isang organisasyon kung walang maayos na komunikasyon at pag-unawa sa bawat miyembro "I am a leader who values connection and relationships built on strong systems above all else. I believe an organization cannot truly serve, understand, and connect with its people if it is not connected from within."

Gabay ng kanyang prinsipyo na "Ang tunay na paglilingkod sa ibang tao ay nagsisimula lagi sa tayo," pangarap niya ang isang unibersidad kung saan ang bawat boses ay may nakikinig. "My vision for the university is a well-informed community, and from this, a more empowered citizen will foster. I strongly believe that students cannot meaningfully and fully engage in student governance when they do not have access to information."

Ipinapakita ng kanyang bisyon na ang komunidad na may boses ay may kapangyarihang ipahayag ang kanilang pangangailangan at saloobin—at ang komunidad na may tenga ay handang makinig, umunawa, at tumugon. Ito ang tunay na kahulugan ng isang inklusibo at nakikinig na pamumuno.

Sa pagsisimula ng termino ni President Dean na nakatutok sa ugnayan at pagpapalakas ng bawat isa, ang buong unibersidad ay kaisa at sumusuporta sa kanyang mga adhikain at gabay.

Muling pagbati, President Dean! Nawa’y mapuno ang iyong termino ng katapatan, responsableng pamamahala, at isang malinaw na bisyon para sa lahat. 🐝

Suspendido na po ang pasok sa lahat ng antas at trabaho sa lahat ng opisina at tanggapan ng gobyerno sa Agoo ngayong araw, July 9, 2026, para siguraduhin ang kaligtasan ng lahat pagkatapos ng nangyaring lindol ngayong hapon.

Pinag-iingat po ang lahat sa banta ng aftershocks at mga naging epekto ng lindol. Hinihikayat din po ang private sector na magsuspende na ng trabaho para masiguro ang kaligtasan ng lahat.

Ang Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Agoo ay magsasagawa ng municipal-wide assessment para tingnan at aksyunan ang naging epekto neto.

Parang kailan lang nang unang dumating ang ating mga bagong Ka-Don Mariano sa 𝗕𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗟𝗨𝗖—bitbit ang kani-kanilang mga pangarap, kaba, at pag-asang magsimula ng panibagong yugto ng kanilang buhay.

Sa bawat ngiti, tawanan, at sigawang sabay-sabay nating ibinahagi, nabuo ang mga alaalang magsisilbing paalala na sa pamantasang ito, walang SLUCian ang naglalakbay nang mag-isa. Ang Freshielubong 2026 ay hindi lamang naging pagsalubong sa mga bagong estudyante, kundi naging simula rin ng mga pagkakaibigan, makabuluhang karanasan, at mga kuwentong dadalhin nila saanman sila dalhin ng kanilang paglalakbay.

Ngayon, muli nating balikan ang mga sandaling iyon at sariwain ang unang kabanata ng kanilang buhay sa SLUC. Hayaan nating ipaalala ng bawat eksena kung saan nagsimula ang isang paglalakbay na puno ng pag-asa, tapang, at mga pangarap na unti-unting nagiging realidad.
