The United Architects of the Philippines Graduate Auxiliary joins the celebration of the World Architecture Day (WAD) 2025 with the theme, “Design for Strength,” which calls for architecture that is adaptable, resilient, and sustainable. As the duly recognized graduate arm of the United Architects of the Philippines, we are calling on architecture graduates, apprentices, design practitioners, and construction professionals to advocate for design that is robust in durability and in purpose.

Together as a united architecture community, let us live by our responsibility to champion design that serves that enrich communities and serve the people.

As we celebrate 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐲 (𝐖𝐀𝐃) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, the United Architects of the Philippines Graduate Auxiliary is one in observing this year's theme, "Design for Strength: Crafting Sustainable Future," 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬, emphasizing robustness, not just in terms of durability, but in purpose as well.

WAD is globally celebrated annually, during the first Monday of October, to commemorate the impact of the field of architecture in the development of the society. This solidifies our role as architects in nurturing future generations and building a world that values sustainable and accessible design. UAPGA aims to embody this year's theme by advocating for design that not only can withstand natural calamities, but one that empowers the people and strengthen the community.
