“ *BEFORE YOU CALL YOUR CHILD LAZY, READ THIS!”*
*Understanding the real reasons behind laziness and how parents can help.*

A child who seems “lazy” is not always lazy by choice. Sometimes what looks like laziness is tiredness, lack of motivation, fear of failure, poor routines, too much screen time, or simply not knowing how to do the task.

*COMMON CAUSES OF “LAZINESS ” IN CHILDREN*

1. *Too much screen time* – Phones, games and videos can make ordinary tasks seem boring.

2. *Lack of routine* – When there is no consistent time for homework, chores, sleep and play, children may procrastinate.

3. *Overprotection* – Doing everything for a child can prevent them from developing independence.

4. *Fear of failure* – A child may avoid work because they are afraid of making mistakes or being criticized.

5. *Lack of interest or motivation –* The child may not understand why the task matters.

6. *Too many responsibilities* – Sometimes a child who appears lazy is actually overwhelmed.

7. *Poor sleep or exhaustion –* A tired child naturally has less energy and concentration.

8. *Constant criticism –* Being repeatedly called “lazy” can make a child believe, “That is who I am.”

9. *Poorly developed habits –* Children need to be taught discipline; it doesn't automatically develop.

10. *Emotional or learning difficulties* – Persistent difficulty starting or completing tasks can sometimes have an underlying cause that deserves attention.

*HOW PARENTS CAN HELP*

Don't label the child—address the behaviour. Instead of saying, “You are lazy,” say, “You haven't started your homework yet. Let's work out what is stopping you.”

TRY THESE PRACTICAL STEPS :

Give small, clear tasks: “Put your clothes away” rather than “Clean your room.”

Establish a daily routine for waking, schoolwork, chores, meals, prayer and bedtime.

Give age-appropriate household responsibilities.

Break difficult work into 10–15 minute sections.

Praise effort, responsibility and progress, not just results.

Allow reasonable consequences when responsibilities are deliberately ignored.

Limit distractions, especially during homework and chores.

Give children some choices: “Do you want to wash the dishes or sweep the floor?”

Teach them that work comes before entertainment: homework/chores first, then play or screen time.

Model diligence yourself. Children learn a lot by watching adults.

A SIMPLE MESSAGE FOR PARENTS

*Don't raise children who only work when they feel like it. Raise children who learn to do what is right even when they don't feel like doing it.*

🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯
*From a Christian parenting perspective, you can also teach children Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”*

Most importantly, discipline should teach—not humiliate. The goal is to help the child develop responsibility, self-control and confidence.

10 REASONS WHY CHILDREN BECOME VOILENT AND HOW TO HELP THEM.

Children can become violent for many different reasons. Usually, it is not caused by just one factor but by a combination of influences from home, school, friends, media, and their emotional well-being.

Here are some common reasons:
👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇

1)Exposure to Violence at Home

Children who witness domestic violence, harsh punishment, or frequent fighting may learn that violence is an acceptable way to solve problems. Bible Verse: Ephesians 6:4

2)Lack of Love and Emotional Support.

Children who feel rejected, neglected, or unloved may express their pain through anger and aggression. Bible Verse: Psalm 27:10

3)Poor Anger Management.

When children are not taught how to handle disappointment or frustration, they may react violently. Bible Verse: James 1:19–20.

4)Negative Peer Influence.

Friends who encourage bullying, fighting, or criminal behavior can influence a child's actions. Bible Verse: Proverbs 13:20.

5)Violent Media and Games.

Constant exposure to violent movies, TV shows, music, or video games can make aggressive behavior seem normal. Bible Verse: Philippians 4:8.

6)Lack of Discipline and Boundaries.

Children need consistent, loving discipline. Without clear limits, they may become disrespectful and aggressive. Bible Verse: Proverbs 22:6.

7)Unresolved Trauma or Abuse.

Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse can leave deep emotional wounds that may lead to violent behavior if left unaddressed. Bible Verse: Psalm 34:18.

8)Substance Abuse.

Older children and teenagers who use alcohol or drugs are more likely to act aggressively. Bible Verse: 1 Corinthians 6:19–20.

9)Mental or Emotional Health Challenges.

Some children struggle with conditions that affect emotional regulation or impulse control. These situations benefit from support by parents, teachers, and qualified mental health professionals. Bible Verse: Isaiah 41:10.

10)Lack of Spiritual Foundation
Children who are not taught godly values, forgiveness, self-control, and love may be more influenced by worldly behaviors. Bible Verse: Galatians 5:22–23.

HOW CAN PARENTS HELP PREVENT VIOLENCE???

📢 Pray with and for your children every day.
📢 Show love, patience, and consistent discipline.
📢 Teach children to resolve conflicts peacefully.
📢 Monitor friendships and media consumption.
📢 Encourage open communication.
