We mourn the tragic loss of an 11 year old girl Divine whose life was brutally taken from her. She was a child full of dreams and potential, yet she became a victim of unspeakable violence.
Her story is a heartbreaking reminder of the cruelty that exists in our society and the grave responsibility we all share in protecting our children.
This atrocity is not just an isolated incident; it reflects a systemic failure.
As adults, we have a duty to safeguard the innocence of our youth, to create safe spaces where they can thrive without fear. Yet, time and again, we see that society has let them down.
We must confront the uncomfortable truth: we have failed her, we have failed others who went through this cruel and unjust situation.
We must demand justice not only for this little girl but for every child who has suffered in silence.
💔 Justice for our children is not just a plea; it is a commitment.
Let us honor her memory by standing up against violence and ensuring that no child ever suffers like she did.
Rest in peace little Champ🕊️

Today’s working session with our Comms Lead at Youth Ignite Cameroon was all about sharpening how we tell our storyand how the world finds it.

We focused on two things:
SEO for our articles; making sure our impact is not just powerful, but also visible

Tone & voice; leaning into Gen Z storytelling that is real, relatable, and human

Because in today’s digital space, it’s not enough to do the work… people need to find it and feel it.

At Youth Ignite, we’re not just creating content we’re building conversations that resonate, educate, and inspire action.

16/03/2026

On Saturday, Youth Ignite team had a meeting on Google Meet, and the goal was simple: set the tone for the work ahead and grow stronger as a team.

It wasn’t a long formal meeting — it was an honest conversation about vision, commitment, and ex*****on.

We talked about:
• The impact we want Youth Ignite to create
• How each team member contributes to the mission
• Building a culture of consistency and accountability

One thing stood out clearly: everyone is ready to put in the work.

As young people, it’s easy to talk about ideas. The real challenge is turning those ideas into systems, platforms, and real impact. That’s exactly what we’re aiming to do with Youth Ignite.

Proud of the energy and mindset in the room (or should we say the Google Meet 😄).
This is just the beginning.

Now we build.

💜 PERIOD TALK. NO SHAME. JUST FACTS.

We pulled up to KAN NDAP Bilingual Complex on the outskirts of Yaoundé and the energy in the room? 🔥

Together with CYJULERC, we got to hang out with a room full of Form 5 and Upper Sixth girls to talk about something that still gets whispered about — periods.

And the conversation? 100% real.

The girls shared some of the things they’ve heard about menstruation while growing up, and we did what we came to do:
✔ bust the myths
✔ explain the facts
✔ answer the questions nobody usually talks about

We also talked about Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) — what’s actually happening in your body, how to stay clean and confident during your period, and why your period should never stop you from showing up at school or living your life fully.

And of course, knowledge came with support.
We shared reusable and disposable sanitary pads, because learning about your period is great, but having what you need to manage it matters too.

But we didn’t stop there. 🚀

Together with CYJULERC, we used a fully interactive digital session with quizzes, myth-busting cards, and live participation that made learning fun and engaging.

Because SRHR education should look like this:
youth-led, interactive, and bold enough to break the silence.

Huge thanks to the amazing girls of KAN NDAP Bilingual Complex for bringing the curiosity and energy, and to CYJULERC for inviting us to make conversations like this possible.

When girls have the right information and the right tools, they don’t just learn — they level up. 💜

SRHR is not boring.
The way it is explained usually is.
At Youth Ignite, we are changing that.
We are rolling out weekly articles written in Gen Z storytelling style. Direct. Honest. Policy-smart. No filters.

Here is what you will see consistently on our platform:

📌 THE LAW
We break down abortion laws, the Maputo Protocol, and legal rights in Cameroon in language young people can actually understand and use.

🎙 UNFILTERED
Real conversations about stigma, myths, sexuality, abortion, and the things people whisper about but rarely say out loud.

💊 CONTRACEPTION
Clear, factual, judgment-free education on reproductive health choices and access.

🔥 ADVOCACY & ACTIVISM
Where youth voices meet policy. Where storytelling becomes strategy. Where we challenge systems that limit our rights.

We are not posting occasionally.
We are building a culture of informed youth.
New articles will be dropping every week.

If you are Gen Z and navigating SRHR in Cameroon or across Africa, this space is for you.
Read. Share. Engage.
Because accurate information is power.

𝐁𝐢𝐠 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲. 𝐁𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭. 💥

We just had a strategy sit-down with our amazing partner CYJULERC and trust us, the vision is LOUD.

Youth Ignite is here for one thing:

Making sure young people actually understand their bodies, their rights, and how to access real SRHR services without fear, shame, or misinformation.

Because let’s be honest...

Silence has cost our generation too much.

𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩, 𝐰𝐞’𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨:

🔥 Take SRHR education directly to the streets, schools, and safe spaces
📢 Amplify CYJULERC’s services so no young person feels stuck or alone
💬 Create spaces where you can ask real questions — no judgment
🤝 Strengthen referrals so help is actually accessible

We’re not just “the future.”
We’re the NOW.

When young people are informed, we move smarter.
When we move smarter, communities level up.

This isn’t vibes.
It’s impact.
Stay locked in. 💜✨
