From the slopes of Mount Kenya to the plains of Garissa, a quiet revolution is taking place, girls are finding their voices through TUSEME (“Let Us Speak Out”).
Through clubs, storytelling, and performance, girls are building confidence, improving academically, and challenging harmful cultural norms.

“I was afraid to speak in front of people, but now I can stand and talk confidently.”
While the impact is clear, challenges such as limited resources and infrastructure persist.

Through the GPE KIX project, Forum For African Women Educationalists- Kenya Chapter and partners are working to strengthen and scale this model to reach even more girls including refugees and internally displaced children.

TOP 100 INSPIRING WOMEN IN AFRICA 2026: A HISTORIC LIST REPRESENTING ALL 54 AFRICAN COUNTRIES

In celebration of International Women’s Month, Womenice Global Foundation Inc announces the launch of the first edition of the “Top 100 Inspiring Women in Africa 2026”, bringing together 100 outstanding women from all 54 African countries.

This landmark initiative highlights women shaping Africa and the world across key sectors including political leadership, global institutions, business, technology, media, arts, sports, and social impact.

For the first time, the list intentionally includes women holding the highest levels of public office across the continent, bringing together Presidents, Vice Presidents, and Prime Ministers of Africa, reinforcing the growing influence of women in decision-making spaces historically dominated by men.

Among the internationally recognized names featured are Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Amina J. Mohammed, Graça Machel, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Angélique Kidjo, Samia Suluhu Hassan, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Fatou Bensouda, Dambisa Moyo and Faith Kipyegon, Amina J. Mohammed, Tiwa Savage,reflecting Africa’s global excellence and influence.

The list brings together leaders from multiple fields—government and policy, international organizations, business and entrepreneurship, technology, media, arts, sports, and activism—showcasing the breadth of impact driven by African women today.

A core pillar of this initiative is inclusion and representation. Beyond globally recognized figures, the list also highlights influential women whose contributions are shaping communities, industries, and narratives, yet are often underrepresented on the global stage.

More than a list, this initiative represents a historic moment of visibility and recognition, ensuring that every African country is represented in one unified platform of excellence.

The selection and curation were led by a committee at Womenice Global Foundation Inc, chaired by Tania Tome, with committee members Graca. Sanches and Danielle Stescki.

About Tania Tomé

Tania Tomé is an economist, author, and international speaker recognized as one of the most influential African voices globally. She has been distinguished among the 100 Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD) in New York, recognized by the United Nations,Academic Presidential Award Winner by Portuguese President Mario Soares, Mozambican Presidential Award Winner among others. She serves as a judge at the American Business Awards, and is the first African and Lusophone woman to chair the Global Business Awards Committee in New York.
