🌾Can agroecology empower youth to shape fairer, greener food systems?

On October 16, we celebrate 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆 by joining the Agroecology Coalition , Young Professionals for Agricultural Development - YPARD, and the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens for an inspiring side event during the World Food Forum — amplifying youth voices and exploring how agroecology can drive inclusive, rights-based, and climate-resilient food systems.

𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟰𝟰% 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗴𝗿𝗶-𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲 (𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭), 𝗮 𝟭𝟬% 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟱. Young people are the next generation of producers, processors, service providers, and consumers. Their engagement is key to transforming agrifood systems, especially in regions facing aging workforces and labor shortages.

At 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗦, we aim to use our results to inform policy, agroecological practices, and business model innovations that increase inclusion in food systems. 𝗕𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗰 𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, we seek to create opportunities for youth and other marginalized groups, ensuring that future food systems are fairer, more resilient, and truly sustainable.
