Why should a parent be digitally literate?
Because your child is already online, and the internet is raising them in ways you might not see.

If you don't know the apps they use!
If they don't talk about what they see online!
If you think "they'll figure it out themselves"!
You're leaving them to learn from the internet without you.

Here's how digitally literate parents make a difference:

- They guide instead of guessing
- They communicate instead of controlling
- They create trust, not fear
- They set healthy boundaries, not silence

Talk to your child like this:

- "What do you enjoy online lately?"
- "Have you ever seen something online that confused or scared you?"
- "Can you show me how that app works?"

The internet is here to stay.
Let's not shut kids out; let's step in and guide them with love, awareness, and safety.

In a digital age where most of our youth are online before the age of 10, responsible and conscious use of the internet is crucial to harness its positive potential while mitigating its negative effects on children.

They are silently exposed to toxic and harmful content, p**n, violence, online predators and mental health triggers because there is no clear line between kids and adult content, as children are swiping through the same feed as grown-ups and not even the "Are you 13 or 18 and above " pop-ups are strong enough restrictions.

That's why Digital Safe Africa exists.
We are a movement committed to:

- Raising awareness on online safety
- Educating students, parents, and teachers
- Advocating for safer digital spaces tailored to age
- Calling tech platforms to create age-specific online communities
- Equipping the next generation to navigate digital spaces wisely and safely

Africa needs safer Digital spaces for our children, teens and young adults.

Welcome to Digital Safe Africa, a movement born out of urgency, responsibility, and vision.

Today, young people across Africa are growing up in digital "dumpsites" overloaded with misinformation, explicit content, cyberbullying, predators, and identity crises.

We are here to change that.

Digital Safe Africa is committed to :

✔️ Creating safer digital spaces for African youth

✔️ Advocating for separate online ecosystems (e.g Facebook kids vs. Facebook Adults, Tiktok kids vs. Tiktok Adults)

✔️ Educating parents, schools, and communities on digital safety

✔️ Empowering youth with tools for smart, secure, and conscious online engagement

✔️ Designing a future where the internet heals, not harms

We're not anti-tech, we are pro-safety.

The same internet that teaches should not traumatize.

The same social media that connects should not corrupt.

🧭 Our mission: To build a digitally safe Africa where every child and young adult can thrive online without fear.

💡 Our vision: A continent where tech empowers, protects, and uplifts the next generation.

📈 Our goals:

- Launch tailored digital literacy curriculums

- Partner with schools, faith groups and policymakers

- Drive global awareness campaigns

- Hold tech companies accountable for youth protection
