RecAp: Day 2 of our activities..

Following the celebration of the World Clean up day organized every year on the 20th of September ✨

CAWEP was proud to join forces with 2 other organizations; the "Empower Her Diadem Foundation" and the "Life Changing Foundation International" for a major cleanup campaign and public awareness initiative.

Under the umbrella of the Soa Municipal Council, our combined teams worked together to clean major areas within the municipality while also sensitizing community members on proper waste disposal practices.

In other to Improve on Plastic bottle collection, We installed tents for plastic bottles collection.

This collaborative effort was a remarkable success, demonstrating the power of unity in addressing environmental challenges.
We are grateful to our new partners and the Soa Municipal Council for their support in making this important event possible.

Community Alliance For Water and Environmental Protection -Cawep joined the global community in celebrating the world cleanup day 20th September 2025.

As part of our mission to promote sustainable Environment and access to Water Sanitation and Hygiene, we organized a two days cleanup activity to clean up and sensitized the population on waste management.
Yesterday the 19th of September 2025, organized a cleanup at a Spring that serves as the Source of drinking water to the Community living around the University of Yaounde1.

This great event that ended up with a sensitization campaign on the implications of poor waste management, drinking contaminated water and how they can treat their water locally.

This act will go a long way to prevent possible outbreak of Waterborne diseases hence contributing in public health and safety.

🌍💧 Empowering Communities in Damas, Yaoundé! 💧🌍

This week, the Community Alliance for Water and Environmental Protection (CAWEP) was on the ground in Damas, Yaoundé, raising awareness on Water Use Efficiency and practical solutions for overcoming water shortages during blackouts.

From interactive sessions to household tips, we engaged residents on smart water conservation habits and emergency water storage strategies. Together, we’re building a more resilient and informed community—one drop at a time! 💪🏾💦

As part of the activity, CAWEP produced and displayed a Water Use Regulation Banner around a vital drinking water tap generously provided by an elite resident—this tap serves the entire neighborhood! 🙌🏾

Through community engagement and awareness, we’re ensuring that every drop counts. Together, we’re building a water-conscious and resilient future. 💪🏾💦

What do you do when you find a leaking pipe in your Area ? Water leakage has a serious economic, Environmental and Health implications such as;
1. Water waste: Leaks can result in substantial water loss.
2. Increased costs: Leaks can drive up water bills and maintenance costs.
3. Infrastructure damage: Untreated leaks can lead to erosion, sinkholes, or structural damage.
4.Health risks: Leaks can contaminate water supplies, posing health risks.
4. Environmental impact: Leaks can waste a precious resource and harm local ecosystems.
Addressing leaks promptly can help mitigate these issues.
What To Do:
- Report the issue to your local water utility company or municipality
- Provide the location and details of the leak
- Follow up to ensure the issue is addressed

Last week I was traveling through the west region of Cameroon and there was something remarkable." Every House no matter how small it is, has TREES around" either fruit trees or natural forest. This made me to understand that we can still carry out developmental projects without cutting down all the trees around. We can as well encourage the planting of trees around our homes to create natural environments hence contributing to the fight against Climate change and the risk associated with it. Let's take responsibility in protecting our Environment.

Most times we turn to leave the Job of waste management in the Hands of the authorities but what I want use to know is that our individual actions determine the looks of our environment. The common man is the most vulnerable to all health Problems associated with poor waste management. Do your best to dispose your waste where recommended. "PROTECTING YOUR ENVIRONMENT IS SECURING YOUR HEALTH"

In Recent years, many cities in Africa and Cameroon in particular have been facing a significant challenge in managing its waste effectively. The rapid urbanization and growing urban population have led to an increase in waste generation, with tens of tons of waste being produce daily.

The African waste management crisis requires a collective effort from governments, private sector entities, civil society organizations, and individuals. By working together, we can develop sustainable waste management systems that protect the environment, promote public health, and support economic development. We can do this 💪 for our Environmental sanity.
