Oku Women in Development (OWID)‘s ongoing empowerment efforts aligns with His Royal Majesty Fon Ngum IV’s vision to mentor Oku youths.

Under the project "Developing vocational skills for Internally Displaced Young Women and Girls from Oku Sub Division", we are pleased to report that since October 2025, OWID has been actively training 24 Internally Displaced Young Ladies from Oku Sub Division currently residing in Yaoundé.

This project focuses on essential life skills development and taking place in Women and Family Empowerment Centers of Yaoundé I, II, III, VI and VII.

Yaounde is the pilot phase of the project which will continue in the North West, West and Littoral Regions.

It was a great honour last Saturday the 10th of May as JOYSMILES was called out as by the OWID (the Oku women in development )

This Oku maiden pulled the crowd out wit lots of smiles, joy, happiness, love and dance!!!!! 😂🙏.

One thing am grateful for this women is the fact that their hearts are pure💚 towards those children facing challenges in life and they are ready to take care of them. As a matter of fact, I JoySmiles have taken upon myself to join them in this passion and vision to raise some of these children up through every means at my level to support them.

It's all about the OWID Fundraising this week. Dear friends and sponsors, join us on the 10th of May at the Multipurpose Sports Complex in Yde as we jointly put smiles on the faces of our Internally displaced young girls.

Good morning good people. Join us as we raise funds in a groundbreaking event scheduled for the 10th of May organized by the Oku Women in Development (OWID).

The aim is to empower internally displaced young girls from Oku. It's a project that will run for 4 years and in 4 regions.

The pilot phase will be in Yde while we will subsequently go to Littoral, West and Bda

We've budgeted 136M and are hoping to divide it equally amongst the regions

We'll train them in trades of their choice.

We'll handle the training fee, materials, transportation to the various training centers and start up capital at the end of the training

We rely on your usual support.
