So we sensitize on violence and offenses perpetrated on females. We educate and Empower her to reach her full potentials.

Our volunteers stepped out last Friday as part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, engaging communities, raising awareness, and reminding everyone that ending GBV is a shared responsibility. Every conversation, every flyer, and every moment of education helps shift mindsets and protect lives. Together, we are choosing courage, compassion, and we will keep standing with survivors until every woman and girl is safe.

✨ Empowering Youth, One Skill at a Time! ✨

In celebration of International Youth Day, we hosted a vibrant Beads & Fascinator Training in Bali— a day filled with creativity, learning, and empowerment. 🎉
Our 28 young participants explored the art of crafting beautiful accessories, turning raw materials into works of beauty and pride.

Beyond the skills, we reminded them that their hands can create opportunities, their ideas can spark change, and their creativity can inspire the world. 🌍💡

We also taught them how to market and scale up their businesses. We could see the excitement and desire to learn.
We have planted the seed. Hopefully it bears fruits.

Grateful for the amazing volunteers who worked tirelessly and to Rev Neba who organized the participants for us.

Here’s to a generation of bold, skilled, and visionary youths.

How we spent International Widows day: We picked our theme: a Table of Strength. We had over 30 widows come together and share their stories. Widowhood is hard, in sharing with each other what they go through on a daily basis they were able to draw strength from their fellow women. We had beautiful surprises for them . In all they loved the time spent with us. Thanks to all our volunteers who were able to put this activity together and it was a huge success. We keep moving one day at a time. Last week end we trained over 25 youths on the production of beads and mentol. They were also drilled on how to monetize these skills and make something of it for themselves. It was such an exciting moment as they were all very enthusiastic about this opportunity.

Often women have stayed in abusive relationships because they lack financial power. Our hope at Chefusirri foundation is not just to protect and promote women's rights but to also empower them and lead them to ways they can be the best versions of themselves for their families and to the society as a whole. We hope to mentor them and find best ways for them to improve their skill and businesses..

We appreciate the volunteers who coordinated this activity, Elis Wain Tubuo Alphonse Beltus Azi-rich Chefu they outdid themselves. We also want to send our appreciation to our trainers Juliette Lum and Emmanuella Yua Fuh God bless you for us.

23rd of June, International Widow's Day. We of Chefusirri Foundation in continuation to the program we carried out same day last year decided to pick up a few women and support them financially with start up capital.

Last year we hosted about 40 women where we discussed the rights of widows as per the laws(Cameroonian and International Conventions). We also gave them a medical talk on stress related diseases plus gifts. After the program alot of them came up to us complaining of how their kids were unable to go to school because they were not financially viable.

So this year, we were able to raise business capital for a few whom we picked and we hope that it will be able to support their kids to return to school in September.

We are not just committed to protecting and promoting the rights of women and girls. We want to see into it that they live life to their full potential. A woman hardly leaves her kid behind. So it's also our concern.

Today is International Water Day. And because we are not just intentional about educating women on their rights but also on their obligations in the society we decided to collaborate with Research Without Borders to celebrate the day. As women advocates we explored the different ways women can use water to bring peace to our communities.

As a sustainable development goal, women can use water to bring communities and families together by growing crops and making delicious meals . Don't forget that a hungry man is an angry man.

Water is life they say, so it can be used as a tool to mediate and negotiate. Note that in a village where access to portable water is not equally distributed that is already a reason for trouble to start.

Women can use water to carry out alot of actions that will bring peace to our communities. We also had lots of other activities like quizzes and we were happy to celebrate a day that no one can say they have nothing to do with. We remain committed to finding ways of bringing peace to our communities.

There are many ways of investing in a woman. We all have something to offer. Advice, care, love, holding her hand, there is so much. You must not have an NGO or money. But if you still have its good. Let's all invest in women.

Last weekend we had a great time exploring career opportunities with over 40 young girls. Most women are victims of GBV because they are not financially empowered and we thought it important to make them aware of some of the opportunities available to them. We talked on different opportunities in tech, communication, law, medicine and entrepreneuring. We are grateful to our speakers who did not hold back their knowledge and experiences from us.

Special thanks to Prof K*m Awah Paschal technical adviser to the minister of Youth affairs and Civic education, who didn't only talk to us about entrepreneurialship but also talked on the opportunities the ministry offers to youths in the various centers. As a medical anthropologist he talked alot on the medical field and encouraged the young girls who wanted to dare into the sciences.

We also want to thank Barr Nsen Abeng who put a new fire in us. She woke our sleeping spirits. Encouraged us, told us about how to fight for ourselves and be stronger. Shared her experiences
with us. She instilled core principles and values in us that make us see life now differently.

We are also grateful to all the volunteers of the Chefusirri Foundation who were facilitators. Mme Brenda Njinwa, mme Blanche Emerinwe , Mr Elis Waindum and our founder Barr Joy Chefu. It was such a powerful session.

It's a practice that inflicts physical and psychological harm, often with devastating consequences for a girl's health, well-being, and future.

FGM is not just a cultural or traditional issue; it's a form of gender-based violence and discrimination that perpetuates harmful norms and reinforces gender inequality. Every girl has the right to bodily integrity, autonomy, and the freedom to make decisions about her own body.

We must stand together to and protect the rights of every girl and woman. This means raising awareness, providing education, supporting survivors, and advocating for strong laws and policies to prevent and punish this harmful practice. Together, we can create a world where every girl grows up safe, healthy, and empowered to fulfill her potential."
