🚀 CoSMO Project Milestones from 2023–2025

Across Cameroon, the CoSMO project implemented by the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon (NECC) improved lives through integrated support in health, safe, schooled, and stable domains.

📌 Total Participants Served: 83,300
🔹 Safe Domain: 82,843 reached
• 603 birth certificates
• 79,481 sensitised on GBV/VAC
• 6,336 adolescents trained in SRH
• 46 Clinical GBV cases supported

🔹 Healthy Domain: 70,659 reached
• Viral load suppression among C/ALHIV under 20 improved to 91%
• The Far North Region led with a 98% rate

🔹 Schooled Domain: 33,563 reached
• 6,471 children retained in school

🔹 Stable Domain: 17,287 reached
• 4,179 households achieved financial stability

This progress was enabled through stakeholder collaboration and localized planning across hashtag 's ten regions.

NB. The CoSMO Project, originally planned for five years from 2023 to 2027, ended prematurely as of March 2025, due to a change in U.S. Foreign Aid policy.

In a bid to enhance the capacities of Sub Recipient-Implementing Partners of the Cosmoproject to identify, track and report success stories that effectively showcase the impact of the project on orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in Cameroon, an on-ground training has begun.

Thus far, Maureen Ayok, Accountability and Learning Manager and Akem Nkwain, Communication Associate have trained the staff of NOLFOWOP (No Limit for Women’s Project) and AWA (Africa Women Association) on constituent elements of a great and Picture-taking techniques.

The capacity-strengthening exercise will continue with other SR-IPs in the ensuing weeks.

The Cosmoproject of the National Episcopal Conference of Cameroon and Intersos have discussed possible areas for collaboration in reaching vulnerable populations in Cameroon. During a meeting at the CoSMO Coordination Office in Yaoundé, the two organizations extensively discussed the mission, vision and scope of their work.

Dr. Xavier Tchetnya, Chief of Party for CoSMO saluted the initiative to collaborate. “Projects may come and go but communities are permanent, hence the need for sustainable partnership. Collaborating to build resilience in those communities cannot be overemphasized.”

At the end of the meeting, both organizations agreed to move the collaboration forward.

Mr. Musa M. KONNEH, Programme Coordinator at INTERSOS on his part, appreciated the CoSMO team for initiating the collaboration and acknowledged their interventions in the field.
