‎Today, as we celebrate International Nurses Day, the environmental team of SOPISDEW Cameroon was honored to join the students of the Nursing Department of FONAB University Institute for a sensitization and awareness session on environmental protection, proper waste disposal, especially medical waste management, and the connection between environmental health and disease prevention.
‎This year’s celebration reminds us that nurses are not only caregivers but also frontline advocates for healthy communities and a healthy environment. Improper disposal of medical and household waste contributes greatly to the spread of diseases and environmental pollution. Through education, collaboration, and responsible actions, we can build cleaner, safer, and healthier communities for all.

‎We commend the nursing students for their commitment to promoting public health and environmental sustainability. Together, we continue to raise awareness and inspire action toward a greener and healthier future.
‎Happy International Nurses Day to all nurses and future healthcare professionals. Your dedication, compassion, and service continue to transform lives every day.

🌾 “Can wheat transform livelihoods in Tubah?”

On May 2, 2026, that question started turning into action.

At the Tubah Youth Hall, farmers, youth, and community leaders gathered with CAWDEV and SOPISDEW, right there with them to explore a bold opportunity: turning agriculture into real business and income.

Then something powerful happened;
Over 12 farmer groups formed on the spot.
20 hectares of land committed for wheat production.
A shared vision for farming differently and profitably.

🤝 SOPISDEW brought the inclusion lens:
Because development works best when everyone is part of it. Women, Youth, Persons with disabilities, IDPs..
All organized into strong, small groups using a 40:40:20 model ensuring no one is left behind.

This is how change begins:
Not in boardrooms but in community halls, with people ready to act.

In March, we witnessed the power of partnership in transforming education.

Through the generous support of the Jones Family and Friends led by Ghangela Jones, our program at CEWEC provided tuition-free education to over 75 children opening doors to learning, hope, and a brighter future.

Children's Education and Welfare Empowerment Center-CEWEC is a child-friendly Safe Space located in Oku, Bui Division of the North West Region of Cameroon. It operates both a Kindergarten and Primary School, duly authorized by the Ministry of Basic Education, ensuring that children learn in a secure, structured, and nurturing environment. CEWEC presently hosts over 215 children.

Beyond the children, 10 teachers/facilitators and staff were supported through a dedicated incentive scheme aimed at strengthening their motivation and improving the quality of teaching. When teachers are empowered, classrooms become more engaging, and students thrive.

The impact is already visible improved attendance, increased learner participation, and renewed commitment from both pupils and educators.

We remain grateful for partners who believe in sustainable impact and in investing in both learners and those who guide them.

Today, 17th March 2026, SOPISDEW Cameroon in partnership with HADY(Humanitarian Association of Dynamic Youths) based in Buea, successfully handed over a Table Tennis Set to Inclusive Government Practising School Nebung in Bamenda, in the Bamenda III Municipality of the North West Region of Cameroon.

This initiative is part of our pilot project, “Emergency Sports for Education, Development and Peace for Vulnerable Girls and Boys,” aimed at promoting recreation, psychosocial wellbeing, and social inclusion among children, especially internally displaced and vulnerable pupils.

With an enrollment of over 440 pupils, the school stands to benefit greatly from this support, which will help create a safe and engaging space for sports and interaction. Beyond recreation, this effort contributes to peacebuilding, motivation, and healthy development among learners. Emphasis is placed on inclusive access for both girls and boys, including children with disabilities.

We appreciate the collaboration of the school administration and look forward to seeing the positive impact of this initiative. Together, we continue to empower young people through sports, education, and community-driven solutions.

Dear Ghangela Jones ❤️🌹

Today, we celebrate you, not just for the love you give, but for the way you give it. Your heart has become a bridge of hope for the Oku community and especially for the beautiful children and staff at Children's Education and Welfare Empowerment Center-CEWEC

Through your kindness, generosity, and tireless mobilization of support, many smiles have been restored and many futures strengthened.
Love is not just in words; it is in action. And you have shown us what love in action truly looks like.

May this Valentine’s Day return to you the same warmth, joy, and grace you so freely share with others. May your home be filled with peace, laughter, and continued blessings.
Please extend our heartfelt love and appreciation to your entire family. Your kindness is a family legacy, and we honor you all today.

With gratitude and deep affection❤️
