GFAN Afrique: Les organisations de la société civile de l’Extrême-Nord Cameroun se réunissent pour un plaidoyer commun 🇨🇲

Dans le cadre de la campagne Un Monde, Une Lutte l’OSC WESDE a organisé le 24 septembre 2025 dernier, une session d’information de 13 Organisations de la Société Civile de l’Extrême-Nord à Maroua sur la situation actuelle du Paludisme, de la tuberculose et du VIH/Sida dans cette région.

L’objectif principale de cette rencontre était de se concerter pour un plaidoyer commun afin d’engager les maires à mobiliser des ressources domestiques essentielles pour lutter contre ces trois maladies.

✍🏿Recommandations principales:
* Création d’un sous-groupe WhatsApp pour le suivi des activités.
* ⁠Adresser des audiences à temps aux Maires.

Les prochaines étapes de cette rencontre prévoient la rencontre des différents Maires du Nord et de l’extrême- Nord afin de présenter la situation des trois maladies et de poser des plaidoyers.

Meri Health District: the WESDE association ( https://wesde.org ), with the support of ASCp (Multi-purpose Community Health Agents), raises awareness among mothers on the correct administration of the 2nd and 3rd doses of SPAQ (Sulfadoxine-Pyrimethamine with Amodiaquine), during the 2nd phase of the CPS (Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention campaign) at the CNDDR (National Committee for Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration) of Meri, Diamare department, Far North region of Cameroon.

WESDE EN ACTION – Face à la soif, nous ne restons pas immobiles.

Dans les régions du Nord et de l’Extrême-Nord Cameroun, l’eau n’est plus un droit… c’est un luxe. Pendant que les enfants parcourent plusieurs kilomètres chaque jour pour puiser une eau souvent insalubre, WESDE agit, sur le terrain, pour inverser cette tragédie.

🚰 Notre engagement est clair : apporter des solutions durables et équitables au défi de l’accès à l’eau.

Voici comment nous y travaillons chaque jour :

✅ Cartographie participative des zones les plus touchées par la pénurie.
✅ Études hydrogéologiques pour identifier les nappes exploitables.
✅ Déploiement de forages communautaires avec gestion locale transparente.
✅ Systèmes de collecte d’eau de pluie dans les zones arides.
✅ Formation des comités villageois à la maintenance des installations.
✅ Plaidoyer actif auprès des autorités et des bailleurs pour un financement éthique, traçable et durable.

💬 À WESDE, nous croyons que l’accès à l’eau potable n’est pas un privilège, mais une condition fondamentale de dignité humaine, de santé publique et de stabilité sociale.

WESDE involved in the fight against Malaria in Cameroon.
The supervision of the technical activities of the Community Health Workers-ASC (here, it is the educational talk at the UEEC church of Bezel Houloum on the theme: correct installation of LLINs) remains a guarantee of the improvement of the performance of the sub -project in the territory of the Health District of Meri by WESDE ( https://wesde.org/ ). The Meri health district, in the Far North Region of Cameroon, has more than 4,000 orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) to malaria, tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. To help them, WESDE (https://wesde.org/ ), in collaboration with the district management team, provides five types of support: nutritional, educational, health, legal and psychological. These orphans, spread across 13 health areas, benefit from close and inclusive monitoring by 125 multi-skilled Community Health Workers (CHW) on a daily basis.

WESDE (https://wesde.site/ ) in Educational talk session in the Houloum health area in the Meri Health District on the theme of Acute Respiratory Infections (ARI) in the context of "Scaling up malaria control for high impact". Malaria remains one of the main causes of outpatient consultations in health facilities (28.9%) and mortality (16.5%), particularly among children under 5 (around 60% of cases and deaths). Children under 5 and pregnant women are the groups most vulnerable to this disease.
