It’s with deep sadness that I share this tragic story from Yaoundé. A 6-year-old child’s life was senselessly taken in the Ngoa Ekelle neighborhood after a violent altercation between two fathers. The father of Cameroonian musician LYDOL, in a moment of rage, chose to hurt the innocent child as a way of seeking revenge, a decision that led to this devastating loss.
This senseless act has left an entire community in shock, and my heart goes out to the grieving family of the child. No parent should ever have to endure such a heartbreaking loss.
Let’s all take a moment to reflect on the value of life and the importance of finding peaceful solutions to conflict. Violence only leaves behind pain and destruction.
