When the children learn about computers, we first relax with games. That joy, laughter, and excitement make the learning process easier and more engaging. This is part of the beauty of what happens at ACT Foundation.

For about a month now, we’ve been training the children in basic ICT and even first aid. Along the way, we include fun and interactive games to boost their confidence, participation, and teamwork 😊😊😊

Today, we're celebrating someone truly special, a unique and one-of-a-kind individual who leads with clarity and treats everyone with love and fairness.

He is the *brain* and *backbone* of the *ACT FOUNDATION* and *ACT ACADEMY*.

Through his efforts, countless lives have been positively impacted, beginning with outreach initiatives at orphanages across various regions in Cameroon and many other ways.

Meet Richard.

A student at Good Shepherd Academy. A young boy from Good Shepherd Orphanage with a clear goal. He wants to become a software engineer.

Through the Easter Tech Bootcamp by Wemakit Academy Africa, he stepped into that future. He did not only attend. He learned. He built. He programmed using Arduino.

Moments like this matter.

They show what happens when a child gains access. When someone chooses to support. When a door opens.

Your support turns small chances into real direction. It moves a child from hope to skill. From skill to purpose.

Richard’s story is still unfolding. His journey has started with the right steps.

And his future is taking shape.

Week 3 at Children Ark Foundation, Douala.

We focused on depth, not speed.

We opened with a sharp revision.
Input, output, storage, processing and different software
We used video clips to make each concept stick.
You could see the shift. Confusion turned into clarity.

Then came a Q and A session.
The children asked bold questions.
They answered each other.
You learn faster when you speak.

Next was first aid awareness.
Led by our amazing and Sakeena Ibrahim
Simple knowledge. Real impact.

They covered:
✅Burns
✅Stroke
✅Asthma
✅Fire incidents
✅Sprains
✅Fainting
✅Nose bleeding
✅Snake bites

They broke it down:
✅What first aid means
✅Why it matters
✅What to do in each case

The room stayed active.
Every child engaged.
Learning felt alive.

We closed with practical work.

Excel:
The older students created report cards.
They applied formulas with purpose.

Word:
Typing drills with accuracy and speed with minimum accuracy of 83%
We split them into three groups.
Each group worked with focus

We started at 3pm.
We ended close to 7pm.

Long session. Strong results.

You measure progress in confidence.
This week, confidence grew.

Week 2 of our ICT training at Children Ark Foundation in Douala, Cameroon.

Here are some of the things the children can do already:

✅Launch and close programs
✅Turn a computer on and shut it down
✅Transfer files
✅Create folders and subfolders, and find files
✅Edit documents using MS Word
✅Use basic Excel formulas like SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, PRODUCT
✅Understand categories of hardware and software
✅Type without looking at the keyboard using Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing

Each session ends with fun games. Energy stays high. Learning stays practical.

This program runs for one month. The goal is simple. Build real digital skills early.

Watching the children at Good Shepherd Home (An orphanage located in Abangoh Bamenda ) immerse themselves in hands-on ICT training is a beautiful reminder of the power of opportunity.

Their growing excitement and newfound confidence as they master digital tools represent much more than just a technical skill set; it is the unfolding of a brighter, more independent future.

Every moment of discovery in the classroom is a step toward ensuring these bright minds have the keys to unlock their full potential and thrive in a modern world.
