I never thought I would learn this.

Those were the words of Bryan, a young boy, as he shared his testimony with us.
Bryan told us that before, he never imagined he could learn how to use a computer.

It felt like something far away, meant for other people. But through ACT Foundation, our volunteers came, played with him, laughed with him, and patiently taught him his first basic computer skills.
What stayed with us most was his smile. He was so happy while testifying, and you could see how much that moment meant to him.

It reminded me that impact doesn't always start with big projects. Sometimes it starts with time, patience, and a volunteer who simply shows up.
A child who once thought "I can't" is now saying "I can."

To everyone who gives their time to volunteer: you are planting seeds you may never fully see grow. Keep showing up.

Yesterday marked the final day of our training at Mama F***y Orphanage

One of our volunteers shared something after the visit that stayed with us. A child told us they never felt treated as less because they lived in an orphanage. We played with them, taught them, laughed with them, and treated them with love and respect.

Then Ivana one of the children here said, “When I see you, my day feels like heaven.”

For us, this was one month of teaching, learning, playing, serving, and building relationships. For the children, we hope it became something they will remember for a long time.

This is what ACT Foundation stands for. Giving children knowledge, love, dignity, and the confidence to believe in themselves.

One month may be over, but the impact continues. ❤️

There is always more happening behind the scenes at ACT Foundation. ❤️

The work does not stop when a training ends.

Today, Strength, Coordinator of our Bafoussam Branch, and Franky visited the orphanage ahead of tomorrow’s Fruit Party 🍓🍓. They met with the team to finalize preparations and also updated some of the software on the desktops we previously installed.

From training and follow-ups to maintaining systems, updating software, coordinating activities, and checking on our partner homes, our volunteers keep showing up.

These moments may not always be seen, but they are part of the impact.

Tomorrow, we celebrate with the children. ❤️🍓

🎉 Happy Birthday to our incredible volunteers, Strength Awa and Might Awa ! 🎉

Today, we celebrate two amazing brothers and valued members of the ACT Foundation family. 💙

Might Awa served as our Regional Coordinator before receiving the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship to pursue his studies in Uganda. His dedication and service have contributed greatly to our work.

His twin brother, Strength Awa, now serves as our current Regional Coordinator and continues to lead with commitment and passion.

Thank you both for being instrumental to our outreach activities, especially our work in Bafoussam. Your service, leadership, and commitment to empowering young people continue to make a difference.

May this new year bring you greater growth, new opportunities, and excellence in all your endeavors.

WEEK 2 DAY 4 | EMPOWERING CHILDREN THROUGH SKILLS AND CHARACTER

Yesterday marked Day 4 of our orphanage visit and outreach program, as we continued our mission of empowering children with practical skills, knowledge, and encouragement for their future.

The day began with Strength Awa, who welcomed the children and introduced the day’s program. He also shared information about scholarship opportunities available to support their education.

Our second session was led by Lovert on “Time Management and Study Tips.” The session gave the children practical strategies to manage their time effectively and improve their academic performance.

Shaline then led an engaging session on “Building Your Character, Building Your Future.” She encouraged the children to understand the importance of good character and how their choices today contribute to the people they become tomorrow.

At the end of the sessions, we engaged the children with questions to assess their understanding. Their thoughtful and impressive responses showed how well they had engaged with the lessons.

Beyond the sessions, Day 4 reminded us of the power of service. Every conversation, lesson, question, and moment of encouragement contributes to building confidence and creating opportunities for these children.

We sincerely appreciate every volunteer who joined us for Day 4. Your time, commitment, and teamwork continue to make this outreach possible.

We are grateful to everyone supporting the ACT Foundation mission of empowering underprivileged children and youths with practical skills and opportunities.

Day 5 awaits. We keep serving. We keep learning. We keep impacting lives.

DAY 3 was truly amazing. ❤️

One of the beautiful things about this journey is seeing new faces join us. Today, five volunteers showed up, three young men and two ladies. Three of them were joining us for the first time.

Before heading to the orphanage, we had a productive volunteer meeting at Kingdom Embassy Hall at 11 AM, ahead of our 1 PM visit. Our Regional Coordinator for the West Region Strength addressed the team, and together we discussed and finalized the framework for the visit.

Then came the moment we had all been waiting for.

Strength, our ACT Foundation opened the session with a presentation about what we do and introduced the new volunteers.

Shaline Glad then took over and spoke to the children about CHARACTER.

She reminded them that good character has the power to transform individuals, families, and society.

The children were visibly moved. You could see the lesson on their faces.

At the end, each child shared what they had learned. Listening to them speak made one thing clear. The message had reached their hearts.

Then came a practical session on Graphic Design using PixelLab, led by Strength.

One of the boys, Franck, was amazed by the design he created himself. His excitement was contagious. He was so happy with what he had learned that he agreed to record a short video thanking ACT Foundation and our volunteers for giving him the opportunity to learn a new skill for free.

Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

We give our time. We share our knowledge. We show up.

And sometimes, a few hours spent teaching a child a skill or speaking life into them becomes a memory they carry for years.

By the end of the visit, every volunteer left with a heart full of joy.

DAY 2 ❤️ | Building Skills. Building Confidence. Building Futures. 💻🎓

Day Two of our three weekend outreach was filled with learning, laughter, meaningful conversations, and beautiful moments.

We had the opportunity to meet 10 beneficiaries, including young adults already pursuing university education. 🎓 We were excited to meet a Level 4 nursing student and a Level 3 transport and logistics student. 🩺🚚

Seeing these young people pursue higher education reminded us of something important: where a child starts does not have to determine where they end.

We opened the session with a prayer led by Prince. 🙏🏾 Our first presentation focused on physical, mental, and psychological abuse. The children learned about its causes, effects, consequences, and what to do when someone is experiencing abuse.

Kemeng Tatiana then spoke about personal growth and self-confidence. 💪🏾 She encouraged the children to invest in themselves, embrace discipline, and keep growing. One lesson stood out:

“Discipline often feels difficult before the results begin to show.” ✨

Then came the practical sessions. 💻 We introduced the children to the basics of Microsoft Word, focusing on the Home tab and document formatting.

We also helped one of our sisters at the home with some formatting challenges she had encountered while working on a document.

Meanwhile, our branch Coordinator , Strength Awa, led a graphic design session with one of the girls. 🎨 She quickly grasped the basics and produced a design of her own. Seeing her turn a new skill into something she created herself was a beautiful moment.

Brayan also did a fantastic job capturing the smiles, learning, and memories of Day Two. 📸❤️

DAY 1 ❤️ | Two Computers. New Skills. New Possibilities. 💻

We’re excited to share that we’ve provided two desktop computers for training at this home. 🙏🏾

Day One was truly special. As always, we were warmly welcomed by the children and Mama F***y. Due to some health challenges, Mama F***y could not attend the program, and we are wishing her strength and recovery. ❤️

Although not all the children were present, we made the most of the day with those who came.

After introducing ACT Foundation, our mission, and the purpose of our visit, we got straight to work.

The excitement on the children’s faces when they saw the computers was priceless. 💻❤️ Two of the children had the opportunity to assemble the desktop computers themselves. Seeing their curiosity and willingness to learn reminded us why access matters.

We then introduced them to the different programs and learning tools installed on the computers, including:

📽️ PowerPoint
📰 Publisher
🎨 Scratch
🧩 GCompris
➗ Math learning tools
⌨️ Mavis Beacon for professional typing

Each child had an opportunity to practice typing and get familiar with the computers.

This was only Day One. We kept some of the training for the days ahead, because there is still so much to learn. 🚀

Two computers are now in this home.

Two tools for learning.
Two doors to digital skills.

Every skill learned opens a new door.

In this short testimony, one of our beneficiaries from our orphanage ICT training program shares what she has learned through the ACT Foundation. From understanding computer fundamentals such as input, output, and processing devices, to creating spreadsheets in Excel and designing flyers, her journey reflects growth, confidence, and new possibilities.

Moments like these remind us why we do what we do. When young people are given access to knowledge and opportunity, they begin to see a future they can help shape.
