Mount Kupe and the Mwanenguba areas may be a tour area for those who like their creatures comforts for the huge bird list. If one really intends to only ever visit an area in west Africa (Cameroon) then this area in Bakossi  land is surely an essential area. Mount Kupe alone records 335 bird species 29 of which are restricted ranged species confined to the Cameroon Mountain endemic Bird Area. 19 of these occur on mount kupe including the Mount Kupe Bush-shrike (Malaconotus Kupeensis), which is otherwise only known from around this area. This area harbouurs atleast 25 other montane species and a high diversity of lowland forest birds. You might also have the opportunity to nail the Grey-necked Rockfowl  at  kupe.
