Policy Statement by Noni Students' Association
Issued by: Yai Emmanuel
Publicity Secretary / Public Relations Officer OF Noni Students' Association
Nkor-Noni.
Date: 28th May 2026
The Noni Students' Association is deeply shocked and strongly condemns in the strongest possible terms the horrific r**e of a two-year-old minor girl that occurred in Yaoundé yesterday. This barbaric and inhuman act against an innocent toddler represents the worst form of moral decadence and criminality in our society. The r**e of a child, especially one so young, is an abomination that violates every principle of humanity, decency, and the sacred duty we all have to protect the most vulnerable members of our community. We express our heartfelt sympathy and solidarity with the little girl, who is alive but severely traumatized by this monstrous experience. Our thoughts and prayers are with her and her family during this extremely difficult time. No child should ever have to endure such pain and violation. The psychological and emotional scars left by this evil act will require long-term support, care, and professional intervention.
As an association committed to the welfare and protection of students and young people at all levels, the Noni Students' Association calls on the relevant security agencies and the Cameroonian justice system to:
✅Swiftly investigate this case and ensure the perpetrator is arrested and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
✅Treat this matter with the urgency and seriousness it deserves, without any form of compromise or delay.
✅Guarantee the safety and privacy of the victim and her family.
We further urge all stakeholders parents, educators, traditional authorities, religious leaders, civil society organizations, and the government to rise up against the growing menace of sexual violence against children. Stronger child protection mechanisms, community vigilance, and harsher penalties for offenders are urgently needed.
The Noni Students' Association stands firmly against all forms of gender-based violence and child abuse. We will continue to advocate for the safety, dignity, and well-being of every child and student. Let this incident serve as a wake-up call for collective action to build a safer Cameroon where our children can grow without fear.
