Pink October 2025 – Mudeka, Tiko Sub Division
October 9, 2025

In continuation of our cancer awareness and sensitization campaign, the Makon Care Foundation (MACAF) proudly reflects on the impactful Pink October Cancer Sensitization Campaign held in Mudeka under the Tiko Sub Division.

Under the theme “Pink Conversations: Strong Women, Strong Village”, and the message “In Mudeka, We Stand Against Breast Cancer,” the community came together in unity, strength, and purpose.

The event, hosted at the Chief’s Palace, brought together women, men, and youth who were welcomed with pink ribbons as a symbol of solidarity. The program featured powerful opening remarks from the Chief of Mudeka, setting the tone for a day dedicated to saving lives through awareness.

We were honored to have Mrs. Mado, a health professional, who led an insightful session on “Early Detection Saves Lives,” addressing stigma, myths, and the importance of timely action. The Chief of Center also delivered an impactful talk on breast self examination, regular screening, and healthy living for stronger women and communities.

A vibrant Pink Walk followed, as participants marched through the streets of Mudeka, raising their voices and spreading awareness. This was complemented by a practical health demonstration, where a nurse guided participants on breast self examination.

Mudeka stood tall. Voices were heard. Awareness was spread. Lives were touched.

Together, we continue the fight against breast cancer because strong women build strong villages. đź’—

We Mourn Divine Mbarga. We Denounce the Violence That Took Her Life.

MACAF condemns, in the strongest possible terms, the horrific sexual violence inflicted upon 11-year-old Divine Mbarga in Nkoabang, Centre Region of Cameroon violence that tragically cost her life. Today, we mourn a young girl whose future was stolen, whose dreams were cut short, and whose family now carries an unimaginable grief.

No child should ever endure such brutality. No parent should ever bury their child under such circumstances. Divine’s death is not only a tragedy; it is a profound injustice.

Sexual abuse, r**e, and gender-based violence are not isolated acts. They are part of a destructive pattern that continues to harm girls and women across our communities. These acts violate human rights, destroy families, and rob our society of its most precious resource its children.

At MACAF, we envision a universe where every girl in Cameroon can live, learn, and thrive without fear. Divine’s passing strengthens our resolve. We raise our voice today not only for her but for every girl whose suffering has been silenced or ignored.

We call for:
-Full, transparent, and uncompromising justice for Divine Mbarga
-Accountability for every individual and system that failed to protect her
-Stronger laws and enforcement to prevent such atrocities
-Comprehensive support and protection for survivors and at-risk children
-A united community response because silence enables violence

To Divine’s family:
We extend our deepest condolences. We hold you in our hearts. Your loss is our collective loss, and we stand with you in your pursuit of justice.

To Divine, and to every child whose life has been cut short by violence:
We honor you. We will not forget you. Your story fuels our fight for a safer, more just Cameroon.

MACAF remains unwavering in its mission to protect and empower girls. Divine’s light may have been taken, but her memory will push us forward. The violence must end and it must end now.
