How Taking our Mothers Abroad, Messes Up our Fathers' Lives

Cameroonians living abroad, please read this!!!

At Cannan Life Care Association, we often hear, watch, and read about the painful reality that catches up with mothers whose children take them abroad.

We all know that many Cameroonians abroad take their mothers overseas to live with them, leaving their fathers back home. This is often done with good intentions, but the result is HEARTBREAKING.

Why heartbreaking? Well, because, in other words, these adult children abroad seize their fathers' wives. Sad huh!

Without their wives beside them, many older husbands suffer from loneliness, emotional pain, poor health, and in some cases, early death.

But hey, are these mothers being taken to live abroad happy? Nooo!!
Many moms say, living abroad is boring and much harder because they only
stay indoors, do
childcare duties, become housemaids, have no friends, no neighbours to talk to in quiet, empty, and lonely neighbourhoods and streets.

These our African moms and grandmoms say they miss home deeply. They miss their now lonely husbands. Their desire to return to Cameroon grows daily. Some become angry, depressed and anxious. No wonder they usually refuse to travel back abroad after returning home.

Caring for your mom should never separate her from her husband. That won't be care but psychological torture on both of them. Older couples need each other to age with in peace, dignity, and joy.
