On 10 December 2025, with support from the Global Fund for Women and our technical partners, we convened lawyers, health practitioners, psychologists, and civil society experts from across the region to explore practical ways to strengthen access to justice and advance the sexual and reproductive health rights of women and girls in Cameroon.

Beyond the engaging and thought-provoking conference discussions, we launched a mini grant scheme designed to subsidize the cost of litigation for women and girls seeking redress, expand psychosocial support for survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), and improve access to sanitary pads and contraceptives in schools, clinics, and hospitals.

We sincerely appreciate the support of Senator Mbella Moki Charles and the Buea Municipality, represented by Deputy Mayor Mrs Enjema M. Vevanje. Their participation added real value to the event and was deeply appreciated by both participants and panelists. We also extend heartfelt thanks to our outstanding panelists for sharing their time, experience, and expertise.

We look forward to continued collaboration with our participants and partners to further improve access to justice for women and girls and to strengthen protections for sexual and reproductive health rights in Cameroon.

To commemorate the conclusion of this year’s 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence (GBV), which aligns with the celebration of Human Rights Day on December 10, 2025, we are uniting lawyers, health professionals, psychologists, and civil society experts from various regions under program Access to Justice & Sexual and Reproductive Health Alliance.

This program is more than just a gathering of diverse professionals - it serves as a platform for networking, sharing experiences, and empowering women and girls. We are connecting individuals who have direct access to victims of GBV and sexual and reproductive health rights (SRHR) violations, and providing them with tools and resources to offer more effective support.

Our goal is to boost cooperation among frontline actors of women and girls right in order to strengthen the protection of SRHRs and promote access to justice for women and girls. Our approach aligns with the priority theme of the 70th Session of the Committee on the Status of Women (CSW70) and reflects our wider mission to promote respect for SRHRs and legal aid in Cameroon.

Moreover, with over 80% of our participants and panelists being female, and with women from our team leading the event's organization and coordination, the event is both women-led and women-focused.

We have assembled a panel of experienced speakers from various fields, including the Bar Association, Judiciary, Health Care, Academia, and Civil Society, to engage a diverse audience. With the support of our sponsor and the collaboration of our partners, we are looking forward to an exciting event.

The Legend Legal Aid and Research Foundation (LLARF) joins the national and international community in marking the beginning of the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violence (GBV). This annual campaign runs from November 25 to December 10 and is dedicated to raising awareness, strengthening legal protections, and advancing justice for women and girls everywhere.

This year’s theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” underscores an urgent and rapidly growing threat faced by women and girls. Digital violence primarily targets women more than men and often exacerbates offline violence, including coercion, physical abuse, and even femicide—the killing of women and girls.

As technology becomes increasingly woven into everyday life, online harassment, cyberstalking, bullying, image-based abuse/non-consensual sharing of intimate images, digital blackmail, hate speech, misinformation, AI-generated deepfakes, catfishing, and impersonation have also become more prevalent.

Ending digital violence requires a collective effort of internet users, governments, civil society, academia, and other stakeholders. Digital spaces should be places for expression, opportunity, innovation, and networking. We envision a digital world where every woman and girl is respected, protected, and empowered.
