The Association for Rural Health Education and Care (ARHEC) was authorized and went into operation on March 18th 2005, being initiated by its Founder, the late
Dr. Ndip Mboe Emilia following a series of meetings held with inhabitants of over 26 communities in the North West and South West Regions of the Republic of Cameroon. This was as a result of her concern for the vulnerable and underprivileg

ed children and women critical in their health and social state with very little or almost no facilities at their disposal. Her ‘love for mankind’ which is today the motto of ARHEC, gave her a push in her struggle in uplifting the indigent and the underprivileged Cameroonians. ARHEC started with a group of 24 members but today counting 89 duly registered members, where 66 members are people living with physically disabilities. The objectives for which ARHEC was created amongst others are:
• To provide primary healthcare services to the rural and urban poor masses.
• To set up women empowerment center to train adolescent boys and girls.
• To organize health seminars on STD’s, HIV/AIDS and Birth Control; conferences to better educate the female folk on basic health ethics.
• To provide for the welfare of orphans, needy, blind and other impaired or indigent members of the society such as epileptics, cripples and so forth. Our vision is of a world in which all persons realize their full potentials and in a society that respects people’s right and dignity. We aim achieving lasting improvement in the quality of life of deprived and vulnerable people in various communities of our reach.
