We believe in a world where young people are central to solution-building, policy making and change.

Abuse doesn’t always look like a bruise.

Sometimes it’s the words that tear you down.
The constant control.
The threats.
The fear.
The things you’re told to tolerate because “that’s just how relationships are.”

It shouldn’t be normal.

We deserve relationships built on love, respect and safety, and we have a role in creating that culture.

Let’s speak up. Let’s protect each other.

Let’s be the generation that does better.

Quick end-of-week recap from the Buea Shapers.

Some of us came together for our hybrid hub meeting to catch up, share ideas, and talk about what we’re building next as a community.

After that, we switched gears and had a relaxed Paint & Sip session. It was a nice moment to slow down, be creative, and just enjoy each other’s company.

We wrapped up the evening with dinner and some really good conversations. These moments remind us that being a hub is not just about projects, it’s also about the friendships and the space to think, reflect, and grow together.

Grateful for the time together and excited for what’s ahead. More to come soon. 🌍✨

🌍 Meet the Leaders Series | Vanessa Nakate is joining us on March 19!

We are so excited to announce our first guest — Vanessa Nakate, one of Africa's most powerful voices for climate justice.

In 2019, Vanessa became Uganda's first Fridays for Future striker — showing up alone at parliament every Friday to demand action on climate change.

Since then, she has founded the Rise Up Movement and the Vash Green Schools Project, earned recognition as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, been named on the Washington Post's Top 50, and completed a Master of Public Policy at Oxford University.

Her motivation has always been rooted in community. Climate change in Uganda and across Africa isn't an abstract concept — it's failed harvests, unpredictable rains, and threatened livelihoods. Vanessa saw the problem, and she acted.

Now, she brings that same energy to our conversation on: "Climate Justice and Africa's Future: Confronting Disproportionate Risk in a Warming World"

Africa contributes the least to global emissions, yet suffers the most from their consequences. Join us as we have the conversation our world urgently needs.

🗓️ Date: March 19, 2026

We are thrilled to introduce our first guest on the Meet the Leaders Series — Vanessa Nakate. 🌍

Uganda’s first Fridays for Future striker. UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Founder of the Rise Up Movement and Vash Green Schools Project. Washington Post Top 50. Oxford MPP graduate.

Vanessa didn’t wait for the world to notice Africa’s climate crisis — she showed up alone, and built a movement.

On March 19, 2026, she joins us for an honest, urgent conversation on: „Climate Justice and Africa’s Future: Confronting Disproportionate Risk in a Warming World“

Africa contributes the least to global emissions — yet carries the heaviest burden, an impediment to the continent’s development. This is the conversation we can no longer postpone.
