Menstruation should never be a taboo topic. It should be part of everyday conversations. We should never grow tired of discussing menstrual health, because period poverty is real. Understanding how to manage your period and learning about your body is essential for your well-being.

We must also address related challenges such as child marriage and school dropout, which are often linked to menstrual stigma and lack of support. Menstruation is a human rights issue, and we all have a responsibility to engage both directly and indirectly in creating awareness and change.

We invite you to join us for this impactful session and deepen your understanding of menstrual health and rights.

At the end of the program, 10 Ambassadors will be selected to represent this movement. They will receive T-shirts, a booklet, and guidance on how to effectively communicate menstrual awareness within their communities.

Meet our speakers and be part of the change.

Speech for the 2026 International Day of Education

Education is not only about going to school, wearing a uniform, writing, and reading.
It goes far beyond that.

Education is the transformation of the mind.
It is the cultivation of a system.

It is the empowerment of communities.
According to the United Nations, by the end of 2026, an estimated 278 million children and youth will be out of school. This is an increase from 272 million in 2023—driven largely by a 24% reduction in global education funding.

This funding gap threatens to push an additional 6 million children out of school, with more than a third of them living in humanitarian and conflict-affected settings.

This reality reminds us that education is not a privilege; it is a lifeline.

At Wem’Afrika, we have taken this mission to heart.
We have reached over 13 schools across four regions of Cameroon, impacted more than 1,000 students, and distributed over 100 school materials. Beyond materials, we have educated students on menstrual hygiene, mental health, community building, conflict management, and harmful traditional practices such as FGM.
We do this because we believe deeply in the power of education—not only as a tool for learning but as a foundation for dignity, resilience, and opportunity.

This year, we are moving forward with new initiatives such as:
1.Future Ready
2.My Menstruation, My Pride
3.Conflict Management and Protection of Students from School Attacks

And we will not focus only on the students.
Teachers will be involved, because the transformation of education requires a community, not a classroom alone.

Wem’Afrika is a youth-led organization, and we are open to partnerships and sponsorships with institutions, individuals, and organizations who believe in shaping the next generation.

The future belongs to the youth, but more importantly, the youth must be empowered to co-create the future of education.

Today, let us remember:
Education is how we rebuild nations.
Education is how we protect dreams.
Education is how we transform lives.

Happy International Day of Education 2026.

From 25 November to 10 December 2025, the world observes the 16 Days of Activism to End Gender-Based Violenceunder the global theme: “UNiTE to End Digital Violence against All Women and Girls.”

Violence against women and girls remains one of the most widespread human rights violations, affecting one in three women worldwide. It is a global emergency that demands urgent, collective action. As we commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action one of the most visionary international agreements on women’s rights the UN Secretary-General’s UNiTE 2025 campaign shines a light on one of the fastest-growing and most dangerous forms of abuse: digital violence against women and girls.
Digital spaces, while filled with opportunity, have also become environments where women and girls face harassment, cyberstalking, threats, manipulation, and harmful content that undermines their dignity, safety, and freedom. This year’s campaign is a powerful reminder that digital safety is not optional. it is central to achieving gender equality in the 21st century.

Wem’Afrika’s Point of View

At Wem' Afrika we recognize that digital violence is not only an online issue but a real-world threat that affects the mental health, wellbeing, and empowerment of women and girls in our communities. As technology expands in Africa, so does the risk of digital exploitation and abuse especially for young women, students, activists, and women entrepreneurs who rely on digital platforms for education, engagement, and economic participation.

Wem’Afrika is committed to:
1. Raising awareness on digital rights and online safety
2. Educating women and girls on how to identify, prevent, and report digital abuse
3. Engaging communities, institutions, and policymakers to strengthen protective frameworks
4. Promoting digital literacy as a tool for empowerment and resilience
5. Ensuring that online spaces become safer, inclusive environments where all women and girls can thrive.

We believe that ending digital violence is essential for building stronger, more equitable societies.

Breast Cancer Awareness

In many rural communities, breast cancer remains a silent struggle one marked by distance, stigma, and lack of access to care. Women living far from hospitals or screening centers often face late diagnoses, limited treatment options, and emotional isolation. Yet, their strength and courage continue to inspire hope across Africa.

Education in Sub-Saharan Africa is not merely a policy challenge, it is a moral responsibility. Each child represents untapped potential, creativity, and leadership for tomorrow.
Investing in their learning is investing in peace, stability, and a prosperous Africa.
Progress is possible, but it requires partnership, persistence, and vision. As Wem’Afrika believes, “To educate a child is to build a community and to build a community is to build a nation.”

Promoting Peace Through Education

When we talk about peace, everyone should have a shared understanding of what it means and how to sustain it.

When students in secondary schools are more aware of the concepts of peace and conflict management, they gain the knowledge and skills to prevent conflicts and reject violence.

That’s why Wem’Afrika is committed to training students in conflict management and encouraging schools to integrate peace education into their curriculum building the foundation for a more peaceful and stable society.

NB: If you are an organization or institution seeking conflict management training within your workspace or school, please send us an email [email protected]

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

Wem' Afrika is pleased to partner with Girlstribe on the SHE GO LEARN project.

This initiative aims to empower girls in the rural community of Bois de Singes (Kowait), Douala 1, by providing them with the tools and support they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Project Objectives:
1. Provide school kits to ensure every girl has the basic learning materials required for academic success.

2. Distribute hygiene packs to promote health, dignity, and consistent school attendance.

3. Offer mentorship to guide, inspire, and equip girls with the confidence and knowledge to pursue their goals.

Together, we are committed to breaking barriers to education and creating opportunities for girls in rural communities to reach their full potential.

Organizations interested to partner with us on this project should send a email to [email protected].

Child abuse has become one of the most neglected issues in our society today, particularly in rural communities. In response, Wem'afrika-Humanitarian Department will be launching its first virtual training course on Child Protection. While participation in the training is free, a small fee is required for those who wish to receive a certificate of completion. The training begins tomorrow, and registration closes in just a few hours. This is a timely opportunity for anyone passionate about safeguarding children's rights and promoting their well-being.
