Impressive!!. I see the birth of a strong partnership between SNWOT - South West/North West Women's Task force and U.S. Embassy Yaounde that would strengthen the former in terms of peacebuilding, capacity building, humanitarian assistance, foster social cohesion in the Northwest and Southwest Regions at a time of heightened poverty and suffering amid insecurity.

Political Officer Kevin Newak met with representatives of the SNWOT - South West/North West Women's Task Force at the U.S. Embassy in Yaoundé.

Their discussion centered on the situation in the Northwest and Southwest Regions, as well as SNOWT's efforts to promote human rights, provide relief to victims, and foster peace and unity within local communities.

La semaine dernière, Kevin Newak, chargé des affaires politiques, a rencontré des représentantes du groupe de travail des femmes du Sud-Ouest et du Nord-Ouest (SNOWT) à l'ambassade des États-Unis à Yaoundé.

Leurs discussions ont porté principalement sur la situation dans les régions du Nord-Ouest et du Sud-Ouest, ainsi que sur les efforts déployés par le SNWOT pour promouvoir les droits de l'homme, apporter une aide d'urgence aux victimes et favoriser la paix et l'unité au sein des communautés locales.

As we advocate for gender equality, it becomes more compounding to fight for Access. Women do the work on the ground, from letting every woman tell their stories to supporting them get empowered.
Yet many women and young girls too cannot reach the global platforms meant to represent them because of structural barriers.
This must change!.

True gender equality means removing the barriers that prevent women—especially from the Global South—from participating in global decision-making spaces. Gaining women on board group by group is the way forward to change these barriers.
