"If Everyone Did Volunteering" was the theme that marked the celebration of the 2023 International Volunteering Day. was fully represented and we participated in various activities along side other organizations like , (initiator of the project) engaging youth in plastic waste management and planting of 6000trees in the next three years in corporation with other government bodies most especially the Regional delegation in  the Southwest region of Buea in charge of Climate Change and environmental protection.

The project we engaged in today is the "safe us evergreen tree planting environmental project". This is a project endorsed by the secretariat as a year of the youth project which started this 2023, aimed at planting symbolic trees in the different regions of Cameroon.

The aim of planting this trees is to follow up the growth and as well to be able to collect data on how much   each tree is able to sequester and then we can use this data to determine how much work we have to do in creating more carbon sinks that will enable us sequester the more Carbondioxide from the atmosphere.

This project is aimed at mitigating Climate change and we strongly believe that nature based Solutions are very much important in mitigating Climate change. Thus we ought to restore ecosystems that have been destroyed and hence reduce global temperatures.

Youth Engagement and Volunteerism can't be over emphasized as we all must engage and dedicate time and resources towards solving and improving petinent issues to the growth of our communities as much as sustainability is concern for future generations. At the end of the ceremony it was all clear to us that we are the Ambassadors of the and thus we all must take sustainable actions to guard our environment.

The International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, with the 2023 theme "Reducing Food Loss and Waste" is so interesting for us to give a deaf ear. The team of ONE EARTH-ADTESOP community decided to have an open and honest conversation amongst themselves to deliberate on how they've experienced food loss and waste and also come up with strategies they can implement to reduce the situation. The following were key points they raised; 1. Eat and buy just what you need. 2. Rather than waste food, share with those around you. 3.Avoid farming seasonal crops when everyone else is farming it. 4. Locally process and preserve your perishable foodstuffs inorder to increase shelf life
5- let's promote sustainable Agriculture by reducing post harvest losses, proper handling of what was harvested in our farms and equiped transportation of our products.
6- if we can't sell all our commodities, let's look for ways to preserve and keep them in good state, we could dry and keep in good temperatures
In conclusion,
Reducing food loss and waste is crucial for achieving global security, alleviating poverty and mitigating the environmental impact of food production.
Let's priorities out efforts and take actions towards food loss and waste. , , , , ,
