From conception , Luminari International emerged a reality in June 2025 with just a vision to reach out to the vulnerable. All organizations all over the world have one or more problems they're providing solutions for but Luminari is not just a solution giver but that light that's at the end of the tunnel which illuminates the paths men thread upon till they finally see dawn.
Our very first activity was held in commemoration of the World Sickle Cell day under the theme;
"To highlight how global collaboration and local advocacy can improve care, mental health support, and challenge stigma for people living with sickle cell disease through community voices, policy actions and international partnerships" where we didn't only end at raising awareness on the implications of the sickle cell disease emphasising on the fact that feelings towards a partner alone is not enough to make decisions without considering the future.
On the other hand, we had on board an experienced haematologist Dr who gave us the scientific background of the disease, how to manage, and most importantly prevent it.
Not leaving behind the already existent sicklers, we had the privilege of hearing the story of a 40years old woman who shared her journey so far and it was really a moment of truth and experience for participants.
The stigma attached to sicklers is more than enough to add to their breakdown because society considers these humans as "half-dead" which can be very challenging to their mental state. This was addressed by a clinical psychologist in the place of Dr .
