On Saturday 15 November, I had the privilege to serve as one of the participant an important multi-stakeholder dialogue organized by Local Youth Corner Cameroon, focused on the theme: “Promoting Peacebuilding Processes During the Post-Electoral Period.”
The gathering brought together diverse community actors whose roles are crucial in shaping stability and social cohesion at the grassroots level. Key stakeholders present included:
• Executives from various University Faculties
• Taxi Drivers’ representatives
• Bike Riders’ representatives
• Religious representatives
• Community leaders
• Youth leaders from different local communities
During my intervention, I highlighted the urgency of strengthening community-led peace structures, amplifying youth participation, and promoting responsible communication—especially during the sensitive post-electoral phase. I emphasized that peace is not an event but a continuous process that requires collective commitment, dialogue, and active engagement from all sectors of society.
The discussion space allowed us to share insights, identify emerging risks, and propose practical approaches to maintain calm, counter misinformation, and support peaceful coexistence after elections.
I am grateful to Local Youth Corner Cameroon for convening this timely platform and for providing us the opportunity to contribute to shaping more resilient, informed, and peaceful communities. Together, we can sustain the momentum for peace long after the ballots are counted.
