Position Summary
The Programs Manager serves as a vital strategic and operational lead, working directly with the Branch Coordinator to drive the Foundation’s mission forward. This individual is responsibility ranges from the initial drafting of project proposals and sourcing for funding and participates in its implementation. As a member of the Management
Team, the Program Manager ensures that programs are well-designed, effectively
implemented, properly monitored, and aligned with AYEF strategic direction,
values, and advocacy goals.
Job Description
- Lead the conceptualization of new initiatives and transform these ideas into professional, high-impact project proposals tailored for international donors and local partners.
- Proactively identify grant opportunities, research donor trends, and manage the full grant application process to secure sustainable funding for the Foundation’s projects.
- Assist in Managing the day-to-day program ex*****on, overseeing a multidisciplinary team and ensuring all activities align with organizational policies and lean management standards for maximum efficiency.
- Act as a key representative for the Foundation, building strategic alliances with NGOs, government bodies, and corporate sponsors to expand the reach of sensitization programs and community outreach.
- Develop monitoring frameworks to track project success, analyzing data to produce comprehensive reports that demonstrate transparency and impact to stakeholders and donors.
- Manage and monitor program budgets in collaboration with the Finance Officer ensuring alignment with approved budgets and Support financial reporting, audits, and donor compliance.
Required Qualifications and Competencies
- Degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related
field.
- At least 2 years’ experience in program management, preferably in an NGO or
donor-funded organization.
- Demonstrated leadership and staff management experience.
- Strong skills in planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
- Experience working with donors and managing grants.
- Ability to analyze data and use evidence for decision-making.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and accountability.
- Ability to work under little or no supervision
- Advanced proficiency in English and French
- strong command of microsoft office tools and basic knowledge of project management software.
