Dans l’optique des visites de plaidoyer ce jour dans les regions du Nord et de l'Extrême Nord du Cameroun, avec l’accompagnement des associations partenaires ont effectué ces visites dans le cadre du suivi des recommandations de l'EPU en lien avec la promotion des droits des Femmes.

Le plaidoyer vise à obtenir des engagements concrets des autorités pour garantir un accès équitable à la terre conformément aux recommandations 49, 207, 213, 223, 230 et 231 de l’EPU, tout en renforcement des mécanismes judiciaires et de protection afin de garantir l’accès à la justice et la sécurité des femmes et filles, conformément auxdites recommandations.

Mr. ABOUT OUATTARA is Resident Director the Search for Common ground for the Lake Chad Basin which covers four riparian countries that share its waters: Cameroon, Niger, Nigeria, and Chad. Due to this his visit this day is to supervise activities carried out by this NGO and it's partners of which MINPROFF is one.

Taking the floor,his collaborator mentioned that everything that used to exist within the community has migrated to the digital space (violence, etc.).
How can we use digital tools to send alternative messages? We need an Application that will facilitate the Monitoring of the virtual space because in the most remote areas, the needs are even more pressing.

Her Excellency after welcoming Mr. ABOUT OUATTARA and congratulating him on his recent appointment, expressed her gratitude towards their desire to collaborate with the ministry especially with the rise of social ills that are threatening women and the Family atlarge. According to the Minister,It's true social ills keep rising in our society and it's really alarming. The cases of femicides,infanticide and mental health one that is not often spoken off but which is very serious . Case of Nlolbisson for example.
This is an issue that needs to be addressed. And people need to be sensitive.
Her Excellency also asked that DEPC, represented by the Cooperation Unit, should step up efforts in monitoring the implementation of the MOU with MTN".

To kick start this courtesy visit, minister MOUNOUNA FOUTSOU started by presenting his technical team present here today made of directors, technical adviser number 1 and support staffs at MINJEC. He also briefly explained the missions of the Ministry of youth Affairs and civic Education, which can be summarised as the ministry in charge of rearming Youths morally, civicly and even Entrepreneraially *(PRONEC REARMORCE). Mr. *About Ouattara* happens to be an Ivorian by nationality and leads peacebuilding efforts, including monitoring community engagement and security, such as in the Nigeria-Benin Border Peace Initiative. The objective of this audience is to revitalize and strengthen bilateral cooperation between both institutions and also express best wishes to each other. Also, this *NGO* aims to Empowering youths in the digital sector since as the world of today is fast drawing towards digitalisation.

After listening to the Director of Search for common ground, minister MOUNOUNA FOUTSOU later encouraged the initiatives presented and reassures the delegation on the fact that the Ministry of youth Affairs and Civic education will do what's possible to assist them in achieving their objectives in Cameroon.

À Yaoundé, Dr Justin Koffi, Représentant résident de l’UNFPA, a accueilli une délégation de Search for Common Ground pour renforcer la collaboration autour de programmes destinés à améliorer la vie des jeunes et à prévenir les conflits.

Le Représentant résident de l’UNFPA, Dr Justin Koffi, a reçu une délégation de Search for Common Ground, composée de la Représentante Pays pour le Cameroun, Tatiana Lobe, et du Directeur Pays pour le Nigéria, About Karno Outtara. Les échanges ont porté sur le renforcement de la coopération entre les deux institutions, notamment dans les programmes régionaux liés à la jeunesse, à la paix et à la sécurité (YPS), et à la lutte contre les violences basées sur le genre (VBG). Cette alliance vise un impact social tangible: en renforçant le leadership des organisations de la société civile, en particulier celles dirigées par les femmes et les jeunes, elle permet de transformer les dynamiques communautaires. Les initiatives conjointes favorisent l’inclusion des jeunes dans les décisions locales, encouragent le dialogue intergénérationnel et préviennent la radicalisation ou l’escalade des conflits.

Search for Common Ground, par son approche de dialogue inclusif entre leaders communautaires, autorités politiques et société civile, contribue à des solutions durables face aux inégalités et aux tensions sociales. L’UNFPA, de son côté, accompagne le gouvernement camerounais dans la mise en œuvre du Plan d’action national de la jeunesse et dans la promotion de l’agenda Jeunesse, Paix et Sécurité (YPS). En conjuguant leurs efforts, ces deux organisations renforcent l’autonomisation des jeunes et des femmes, et amplifient l’impact social des programmes de prévention des conflits. Les communautés bénéficient ainsi de structures plus résilientes, d’espaces de dialogue sécurisés et de perspectives réelles de développement inclusif. Cette coopération traduit une vision partagée: garantir que chaque jeune puisse réaliser pleinement son potentiel et devenir un acteur actif de la paix et du progrès social au Cameroun.

Le mercredi, 26 novembre 2025,
La représentante pays de Search for common ground a été reçu en audience par son Excellence Marie-Claude Harvey, Haut commissaire du Canada au Cameroun.
Les échanges se sont déroulés dans une convivialité autour des sujets comme la promotion des droits des femmes, la lutte contre les VBG mais également le numérique. Le travail de Search a pu être dévoilé tout au long des échanges, montrant son engagement a oeuvré pour l’application de ses missions.
