Is a gathering place for young people who are tired of drifting. Every year, thousands of us finish school and step into the world only to meet confusion on the other side. Questions about purpose. About where to begin.

Some of our brothers and sisters, caught in that uncertainty, have been swallowed by things that promised relief but delivered destruction.

We know this story. We are not here to judge it.

At YAVIB, we believe young people deserve more than survival. These things guide everything we do:

Have you noticed no matter what sector we are talking about, investments always have HUMAN BEINGS at the back end?

Machines are good. A.I is great, but at the back end, these things are only as useful as the humans pressing the buttons and generating the prompts.

I realized, investors don't invest in ideas but they invest in people. Who are the people behind those ideas, do they have what it takes to drive the development they dream about?

These are the questions they ask themselves and hence tilt them towards you to know who you are and what you are MADE of.

Many young people today are seeking for investors and donors rather than the skills, character and mindset that makes them irresistible.

That's why most recruiters would ask questions like;

- What are your skills?
- Do you have the ability to work under pressure?
- Are you disciplined and reliable?
- How emotional intelligent are you?

These questions are not answered with certificates o but by the experience of our becoming. Who have you become INSIDE, your CAPACITY to handle things/resources, is what drives real development.

So strong human capital makes investments flourish and not wasteful. Three things every youth should seek for:

- Structure
- Stability
- Long-term potential

Investments will flow naturally to you. To receive investments, we must first be investible. Money has never really been the problem, WE have been.

𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐈𝐬 𝐍𝐨𝐭 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

Too many young people think discipline is something harsh, a thorn to your freedom. But Napoleon Hill once said, “Self discipline is the master key to riches.” Jim Rohn also reminded us that discipline is the bridge between goals and achievement.

Now, look at it this way.

Discipline is not denying yourself joy or freedom, but adjusting yourself for it, because a man who isn't caged by his own emotional instability is truly a free man.

You wake up early following systems not because you are forced, but because your dreams and purpose deserve your energy and time.

In Cameroon and almost everywhere, the most focused student's, youths, artists or entrepreneurs are NEVER always the most talented. They the most consistent.

I realized nothing beats a working system of discipline, not even motivation and temporary drive. Being a machine, obeying a set of rules.

Discipline to your system makes you build and grow self trust and when self trust is at its maximum, nothing seems impossible anymore.

Your destiny fulfillment is directly proportional to your discipline adherence. It's the fair price to pay for becoming who you were meant to be.

Our team took the message of D.F.A. — Discipline, Focus, Abstinence — to the classrooms, and hearts of young students.

We talked about how these three simple principles can shape the future of a young person, not just in school but in life.

Discipline is the foundation. It’s what helps a student stick to their goals, even when distractions come. It’s what turns dreams into reality through consistency and effort.

Focus is the clarity in a world full of noise. It’s about choosing to dedicate time and energy to what truly matters, helping students push through obstacles and stay aligned with their goals.

Abstinence isn’t just about saying “no.” It’s about choosing health, making decisions that support a brighter, cleaner future. It’s the ability to resist things that pull us off course and instead, embrace what will help us grow.

We are proud to be part of this journey, empowering students to rise with discipline, focus on their future, and abstain from choices that hinder their growth.

INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS DAY

Today reminds us of something we see every day which is, young people simply wanting a fair chance to be safe and heard.

Human rights are the small, everyday freedoms that allow a young person to breathe, choose better paths, and to imagine a future that is possible.

We celebrate on this day, every young person who keeps choosing hope in difficult environments. Equally, those building peace in small ways, and those trying again after mistakes.

Human rights begin here, in the lives of the young people around us, they will find the protection, support, and space they need to become who they were meant to be.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, let's remember that mental well-being is the foundation for a healthy, purposeful life. As we raise awareness, we must also shine a light on the silent struggles many face with substance abuse—often a symptom of unspoken pain and lack of support.

Young people, in particular, carry immense potential to lead change. By empowering youth with the tools to prioritize mental health, reject harmful coping mechanisms, and embrace meaningful living, we build a future grounded in resilience, compassion, and purpose.

Let’s lead with empathy, break the stigma, and create spaces where healing and hope can thrive—for everyone.

The 2025 challenge is here! This October, CADCA proudly recognizes National Medicine Abuse Awareness Month and invites coalitions across the country to participate in the challenge by organizing an event to help educate and spread awareness of prescription drug misuse and over-the-counter (OTC) medicine abuse.

Coalitions that take part can submit a nomination showcasing their efforts for the chance to win a prize! Here's how to qualify:

• Event must take place during the month of October 2025
• Educate and spread awareness on BOTH prescription drug misuse and OTC medicine abuse
• Share a Stop Medicine Abuse resource from a coalition channel and encourage your community to do the same

Submit your nomination by November 3, 2025.

Exciting Updates‼️

We happy to announce 📣 that we are joining other colleagues and partners to run a multi-faceted advocacy campaign, "South West Voices for Unity", with main tagline: "Your Vote, Your Voice. Not Hate" aimed at mitigating and countering hate speech and xenophobia in the South West Region of Cameroon.

Recognizing the electoral cycle as a period of heightened tension, the campaign adopts a phased approach (Pre-Election, Election, Post-Election) focusing on prevention, monitoring, response, and healing. The campaign leverages partnerships with community leaders, media, youth groups, and security forces to promote social cohesion, empower citizens with media literacy, and advocate for accountability. The ultimate goal is to foster a political environment where elections are contested on issues, not identity, and to strengthen the region's resilience against divisive rhetoric.

This advocacy and sensitization campaign with funding from the National Commission for the Promotion of Bilingualism and Multiculturalism (NCPBM) has as Lead Organisation For Peace And Development ( HWACUPD) and Implementing Partner the Denis Miki Foundation (DMF) alongside Young & Vibrant For Community Development - YAVIB CD and other organisations, networks and coalitions.

We count on the active support and engagement of the general public as it is our collective effort to secure the peaceful cohesion of our nation and communities.
