Today we officially launches the 2026 Environment Week in Nkambe, a significant step towards the celebration of World Environment Day 2026 under the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”
The launching ceremony was presided over by the Mayor of Nkambe Council, alongside representatives of environmental organizations, (Yodo Cameroon, Cencosdev Cameroon, Surudev Sustainable Run for Development and others) government services, community leaders, and other stakeholders committed to environmental sustainability in Donga Mantung Division.
As part of the day’s activities, tree planting exercises were carried out in selected public offices across Nkambe. These trees symbolize our collective commitment to restoring ecosystems, combating climate change, and creating a greener and healthier future for generations to come.
Environment Week serves as a reminder that environmental protection is a shared responsibility. Through collective action, awareness creation, and sustainable practices, we can make a meaningful difference in our communities.
We commend the Mayor of Nkambe, all participating environmental organizations, public institutions, and community members who contributed to the success of today’s launch activities.
As we continue throughout the week, we encourage everyone to take practical actions for the environment—plant a tree, keep your surroundings clean, reduce waste, and promote sustainable living.
Together, we can build a resilient and environmentally sustainable future.
