In our approach to incentivizing evidence use, we’ve been coaching families of children with disabilities on how to leverage media tools like WhatsApp, Facebook etc to market their products. Beyond creating market monopolies, this is about inclusion and empowerment.

If you run a restaurant, you are a service “treteur”, or simply need reliable vendors for chicken, make these families your go-to plug, they deliver.

When you buy from these businesses, you’re doing more than just making a purchase. You’re investing in insurance, education, social wellbeing, dignity, in inclusion, and in the unmet needs of a child with a disability as a whole.

Let your spending be a form of support. Let your orders tell a story of shared growth

One the objectives of the Wakka disability project is not just to fund IGA for people with disabilities but also to empower the families to leverage on digital tools like WhatsApp and Facebook to market their businesses.

We also create Market monopolies by connecting them directly to buyers of their products one of which is poultry. You can partner with us in this initiative by becoming a buyer. And when you buy from this families, not only are your support people with disabilities you are contributing to the community.

Meanwhile, one of our families has fowls for sale and they are going at 6k each. Home reared and good for home consumption and your occasions.

Schools Reopening for Children With Disabilities

While there are efforts made to enhance inclusive education in Cameroon there is still a lot to be done at household level to ensure that children with disabilities access learning opportunities that are available out there.

A change of mindset to believe that the child has potential is vital for steps to support learning for the child who has a disability.

Parents are the custodians of potential and till they see it, they won’t do nothing.

Regardless of how the world sees or labels your child, it takes just you to hold on to the faith- to believe that your child has potential and invest towards it. Joining the crowd in disbelief is like the last nail in the coffin.

The Wakka project through the education axis seeks to support families of children with disabilities with evidence based information that will help them to support their children’s learning journey.

To every parent out there with a child with disability our thoughts are with you and we encourage you to send your child to school and support them to learn and develope their potential.

Don’t only end at sending them to school, provide school needs (food, clothing), provide emotional support, discuss with them about their day at school, assist them with their assignment, don’t talk bad about their school teachers, attend PTA meetings.

Your child can win through your support.
