Yesterday, Grace Charitable and Rehabilitation Organization (GRACARO) proudly joined women-led organizations, civil society actors, and peace advocates in the "Waka Waka 4 Peace" march ahead of the celebration of Pan-African Women's Day.
As a committed HeForShe organization, GRACARO believes that achieving lasting peace, gender equality, and sustainable development requires the active participation of both women and men. Our participation was not simply a symbolic walk—it was a reaffirmation of our commitment to building communities where every woman and girl can live in dignity, safety, and equal opportunity.
In a region that continues to long for healing and reconciliation, every step we took represented hope. Every voice raised echoed our shared conviction that peace is the foundation upon which justice, development, and human dignity are built. The Waka Waka 4 Peace initiative highlighted the indispensable role of women as peacebuilders, community leaders, and agents of positive transformation.
GRACARO remains committed to promoting gender equality, empowering women and girls, engaging men and boys as allies, and fostering dialogue that strengthens social cohesion. We commend the organizers and every participating organization for demonstrating that collaboration is our greatest strength in advancing peace.

On July 6, 2026, the Akum Palace became a vibrant hub of community action as we successfully launched this first phase of a transformative initiative. This outreach, made possible by Grace Charitable and Rehabilitation Organization (GRACARO) in partnership with Rural Women Action for Sustainability and Justice (RWASJ), addressed critical needs in health, peace, and environmental conservation, marking a significant step forward for the Akum community.

The event was a testament to what we can achieve when we unite. With the invaluable support of our medical teams, community members—especially the elderly and persons with disabilities —received free health screenings, including blood pressure, advice on NCDs prevention and sugar level checks. This direct intervention underscores our shared commitment to the well-being of our people, ensuring no one is left behind.

A key driver of this initiative was a research revealing that the Akum Palace was not surrounded by the culturally and medicinally vital trees that constitute the sacred forests of the Grassfields—a critical element of the kingdom's heritage and identity. The tree planting caravan was therefore more than just an environmental activity; it was a step toward restoring a vital cultural landscape for the Akum fondom.

This event marks only the first phase of a larger vision. We are calling on all sons and daughters of Akum, both at home and in the diaspora, to join us in this noble drive to rehabilitate the Akum Palace sacred forest. Your support is crucial in ensuring our children inherit a healthy, peaceful, and culturally rich community.

CELEBRATING 8 YEARS OF IMPACT & A NEW MILESTONE!
Dear GRACARO Family, Partners, and Supporters,
It is with overflowing gratitude and deep humility that I write to you today. As we continue to celebrate 8 years of legal existence and sustainable community impact, we are triumphantly stepping into our 9th year—and what a glorious entrance it has been!

By the special grace of God, I am privileged to announce that I will be leading the GRACARO team into this new chapter as a certified CSOs (Civil Society Organizations) Trainer!

This certification is the fruit of an intense 3-day Training of Trainers that took place in Ngaoundéré, which concluded yesterday, 2nd July 2026. It was a journey of rigorous learning, unlearning, and relearning—equipping us to better serve our communities and strengthen the civil society sector in Cameroon.

GRACARO, founded in 2018, have remained committed to restoring hope to the hopeless. This new certification is not just a personal achievement—it is a renewed commitment to GRACARO's vision of an equal and just society where everyone is adequately empowered to live a self-reliant and dignified life.
