BAMENDA RAISES ONE VOICE: NO MORE FEMICIDE!
Over the weekend, the streets of Bamenda echoed with a powerful message: women must not continue to die in silence.
Women, men, civil society leaders, community members and organisations came together in solidarity to condemn the alarming rate of femicide and gender-based violence in Cameroon.
BEWOCA stood alongside other organisations and concerned citizens to say NO to femicide. We stood not only for the women and girls whose lives have been tragically cut short, but also for every woman and girl who deserves to live, work, love and raise her family without fear of violence.
This was more than a march. It was a call for justice, accountability, prevention and action.
Femicide is not a family matter.
It is not a private matter.
It is not something we should become accustomed to.
Every life lost matters. Every woman deserves protection. Every voice matters.
From Bamenda, we join the growing call across Cameroon:
NO MORE FEMICIDE.
NO MORE SILENCE.
NO MORE EXCUSES.
BEWOCA stands with women. BEWOCA stands for life. BEWOCA stands against violence.
